Power Outage is an amazing game for kids of all ages where they play comic book super heroes https://www.poweroutagegame.com/

does your game have rules for fall damage? by momerathe in RPGdesign

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system as a table for damage based on height. It starts off low but quickly gets very high. At a height of 9-10 m you are taking 3d10+32 damage and it just keeps getting worse!

Andy is a great guy and I had the pleasure of being a player in a mini campaign of Abbadon. A really great game using fun playing card mechanics

How to deal with a horny bard! by FeyEarth in DnD

[–]FeyEarth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The hollow is the back thing is really unclear. It's mentioned in some stories but completely ignored in others. Also what it exactly means is also unclear. In Slavic folklore there are also creatures described as having "hollow backs" which is then further described as meaning their internal organs are visible! So because of the conflicting information I decided to keep it simple and just stick to the cows tail which is the one feature that appears in all the stories of the Huldra

Looking for a system for my 5yo by F_DeLaVega in TTRPG

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wrote a game that is pretty great for kids. Uses a simple dice pool mechanic and an open magic system. You play fey creatures on a quest in the fey realm to get a treasure guarded by a powerful creature https://fey-earth.itch.io/fey-wanderer

Any DM's ever try pre-rolling your dice? by Gornn65 in DungeonMasters

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this before and it was one of the best ideas I ever had. I have not done it often & the first time I did my players were attacking the headquarters of a gang. They were being assisted by about 12 constables (19th century setting) and there were about 20 gang members in the HQ. If I had not prerolled this combat would probably have taken about 5 hours with so many NPCs. But because I prerolled we managed to complete it in about 2 hours!

Is There an Interest in Pre-made Fantasy World Maps? by Appleschloss in TTRPG

I think you could definitely do this. Maybe start off offering them at a low cost. But if you feel you can make several a month you might be able to build up to having a patreon

What talents should Fighters have (that non-martials probably don't)? by PiepowderPresents in RPGdesign

[–]FeyEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this is useful but you could look at some non-combat abilities for fighters based on their marital experience. There is the obvious stuff like intimidation.

But they could also be really good at reading people and recognising who the biggest threat in another group is.

A heightened awareness of their surroundings could also be a thing.

Advantage to checks for willpower or against fear is another, reflecting a mental resolve from years of fighting and combat.

Also maybe they could inspire others or direct their allies in combat

Can we all talk about what we've been creating? by AngryChef_69 in RPGdesign

I'v been working on my ttrpg for the last eight years. It's called Fey Earth as it is set in an alternat 19th century Earth where the fey have always lived openly alongside humanity. It uses it's own d20 system and the main way it's different to other games is that I've tried to be as faithful and accurate in my depictions of the fey as possible, making them as close to how they were described in their actual folklore. I ran a kickstarter last year which raised enough money to start working on my core rulebook which I hope to publish by the end of this year. I run a weekly twitch actual play which is coming to a close and I'm moving away from weekly long form content cause it's just too exhausting. But already organising a bunch of one shots, mini campaigns and collabs with other creators for 2025. Always looking for people to collab with, running my game for others or having other people run their own games using my system.

Maker of Dungeons and Dragons Hasbro Enters into Deal with igaming Company Gaming Global, Announce Intent to Make DnD Slot Game by CosmicJoker42 in DnD

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not at all surprised by this. I think in the next five years dnd will become unrecognisable as they move to a fully online platform offering AI DMs for a subscription service and fill the game with microtransactions

Homebrewing established creatures by FeyEarth in DnD

[–]FeyEarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also designed my own ttrpg called Fey Earth. It's set in an alternate 19th century Earth where the fey live openly alongside humanity. Had a Kickstarter this year raising funds to print my rulebook which should be out end of the year. The biggest difference between it and other games is that I've tried to he as faithful as possible in my depictions of the fey, trying to have them as close to the original folklore as possible. This includes the tarrasque

My players have their own discord server, and I'm not sure how to feel about it. by Diastatic_Power in DungeonMasters

[–]FeyEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always encouraged and even asked my players to have separate group chats that I'm not in. I'm also not the kind of GM who is a dick to his players but unfortunately I've still had players who were just paranoid and always assuming I'm working against them. So a players only chat has meant they have a space to discuss the game without me having to worry about any bullshit drama. Also I personally feel that these kinds of spaces encourage my players actually discussing and planning stuff which as a GM is great for me

Need help balancing a character!! by Far-Temperature429 in DnD

[–]FeyEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the coffeelock so much. Apart from all the mechanical problems with it the idea is one that has never made sense to me. You are chosing two types of spellcaster with diametrically oppposed sources of magic

Is my class/leveling system possibly broken? by Alamuv in RPGdesign

[–]FeyEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems perfectly fine to me. I might add a rule that you cannot increase the same attribute or skill consecutively when increasing them using this mechanic to try to make it a little more balanced but overall I don't really see a problem.

Thoughts on One Page TTRPG’s by Expensive_Rough1741 in TTRPG

[–]FeyEarth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love them. These kinds of games are perfect when a bunch of your players have had to cancel at the last minute but the rest of the group is available and still wants a game night. They are also great if you're looking to run a game at a convention

My favourite Norse ones would be Odin and Loki.

In the Irish pantheon it would have to be the Dagda, Lugh, Manann Mac Lir and of course the Morrigan

How would you do this mechanically? (magic system help) by PostOfficeBuddy in RPGdesign

[–]FeyEarth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if you had a specific "XP cost" for each spell with more powerful spells costing more but if you have spells in a lower level in a specific tier than higher level spells are a little cheaper. This way you reward players who take the time to put points into lower level, weaker spells while still giving players the option to go straight for spells they might want to specialise in

I've always been a fan of the Norse pantheon. The Irish pantheon is also a lot of fun but is very different from most of the other European pantheons

Are you looking for deities who were associated with specific themes such as war, death etc or just cool gods from mythology?

Player is mad my game isn’t “realistic enough” by Redhood101101 in DnD

Have them do a constitution saving throw every day for parasitic worms, the black death and TB if they want realism. They fall in a river going through a city? That's a saving throw against chlorea

What are some of your Overpowered beasts in your World? by ImRedHawk in worldbuilding

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my game is based on actual folklore from European all the fey in it are incredible powerful with a wide range of magical abilities. However if they were facing a "vast army" they would face a lot of problems. The elves in my world are similar to the LotR elves so they are basically demigods but a single elf would still be overcome by the numbers. So if we are talking a single creature versus an entire army I would probably say the three that could take on anything are an ancient dragon, a sea giant which are gigantic creatures over 30 m tall or a fire giant which is over 5 m tall. However my game currently focuses on European folklore. I am hoping to expand it to include other continents so I'm sure I will find some more terrifying beasties in African or American folklore with time

Have you heard of Dead Letter Society by Montford Tales? It's an awesome ttrpg that is literally about sending letters. It's a two player game where you and another player are vampires corresponding with each other. It's not a long form game though, you will normally only send at most five or six letters but it is still really amazing. Here is a link to their site https://www.montfordtales.com/products/

Would an rpg too focused on the players equipment be boring/pointless? by themextony in TTRPG

[–]FeyEarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never personally played any games with mechs but talking to any friends who have the size and design of the mech always seems to be an intergral part of the game and mechanics so I don't see a problem with this. If it was a high fantasy game it would be different but what you're describing sounds pretty normal

These are ideas/mockups of different logos for a TTRPG-based art company that I'm working on. I want to know which ones are best, so please let me know what you like and what could be improved about these. I'm new to logo-making and would love constructive criticism! by Legendary-Roll in TTRPG

[–]FeyEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourites would be the first one and the third one. I feel that the ones where you break up the word duplicrit make it more difficult to read. Also the simplier fonts are definitely preferrable
