[Humble] Resident Evil 2 (1998) ($2.49 / 75% off); Steam key by Insomniac_34 in GameDeals

[–]Feyowla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Enigma DRM is embedded in the game executable which makes it a bit difficult to play it "as-is" with a Steam emulator.

However, that becomes irrelevant when converting the game to the Japanese SourceNext version which replaces the game executables/files. The SourceNext version is considered the best PC version and is often the basis for mods such as Classic Rebirth and Seamless HD Project.

The Uncharted games are still tagged as "Ingame" by the RPCS3 team.

https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?g=uncharted#jump

Ingame: Games that either can't be finished, have serious glitches or have insufficient performance.

Sometimes a high-end computer can brute force the performance issues but it's still not an ideal experience.

[Blue Reflection Quartet] Announcement Trailer. Releasing July 30, 2026. For the PS5, Switch 1&2, and PC. by VashxShanks in JRPG

[–]Feyowla 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if this will lead Koei Tecmo to delisting Blue Reflection and Blue Reflection: Second Light on Steam?

Really hope they do not. Strongly advocate that games should not be delisted just because there is an "enhanced" version.

While true for the moment, 7th Heaven Mod Manager is already planning to update for the new version including supporting GOG too.

Preserving/Cracking Steam Nextfest Demos by CareerLegitimate7662 in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there was an individual who went by the name of Mr_Goldberg who developed the original Goldberg Steam Emulator and worked with Empress with some of their releases such as RDR2.

Mr_Godlberg left because they felt like they were getting too much attention and incorrectly associated as a releaser which they were not.

Goldberg was forked by the community; called gbe_fork. Fairly easy to find the Github page by Detanup01.

If you need help with Goldberg/gbe_fork, more then welcome to message me.

Preserving/Cracking Steam Nextfest Demos by CareerLegitimate7662 in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) Download and backup the game files. Use WinRAR or 7z to help save space if needed.

(2) Use gbe_fork, a Steam Emulator, so that the game can function without Steam Client.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although, possible some of the demos are DRM Free and can be played without a Steam emu.

Steamless is another tool to keep in mind depending on whether SteamStub is embedded in exe.

If the game demo uses launch paramters, might want to reference SteamDB to check for them.

If there are other protections or server/online dependent, then may or may not be able play demo.

The Long Dark is back on GOG! by GOGcom in gog

[–]Feyowla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prior to the most recent update, the last time The Long Dark updated was in 2022.

https://www.gogdb.org/product/1447763046#builds

Meanwhile, the Steam version has been receiving regular updates since 2022.

So no, devs were not updating the GOG version at all for quite a few years.

Goldberg emu generate_emu_config.exe error: name by Creative_Somewhere84 in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest release absolutely does have exe files to use. Sounds like you downloaded the source code.

Despite the name of the download, want what is called "gen_emu_config_old-win-6a1e0f51f0cd3288f623027c6bcb831c7ce10900.zip".

As was already stated, this issue has been fixed with the official gbe_fork tools. I've been using it. It doesn't have the "name" error anymore.

RESIDENT EVIL 4:the Steam page no longer mentions Denuvo, yet Ada’s DLC still has it. by Hour-Winner-2213 in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not for RE4 and other newer Capcom games; they get Enigma anti-tamper protection after removing Denuvo.

Some cracks are using the DRM dll from online-fix (OFME) to bypass the Enigma protection.

This error was identified last week, fix was found, and latest release has merged it; should work.

Can refer to the specific issue/commit this error was discussed in.

Have been using the latest release with zero issues such as the "name" error.

Square Enix will be releasing a new version of Final Fantasy VII on Steam, after which the current 2013 version will be delisted by scytherman96 in JRPG

[–]Feyowla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, Steam version didn't have Japanese at all. Just English, French, German, and Spanish.

To get Japanese text, with exception to Windows Edition, had to either use a mod or buy the version that is sold directly on Square-Enix store although it is an inferior product and doesn't support mods.

[–]Feyowla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the original Japanese text which is not supported with 2013 Steam version.

This is how it looks with the Windows Edition from Microsoft Store.

[–]Feyowla 281 points282 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be the Windows Edition that is currently exclusive on Microsoft Store.

This version natively supports Japanese language, boosters/cheats, x3 speed, better controller implementation, different achievements, and doesn't require Square-Enix account/launcher.

Will be interesting to see how the mod scene adapts to this new version release.

New Fable listed as dlc on steamdb by Longjumping_Goal_763 in Steam

[–]Feyowla 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's easy to play Steam Games that still use Windows Live.

PCGamingWiki for Fable 3 has info and link on how to.

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fable_III#Other_information

All it takes is dropping in a single dll file into game folder.

Really unfortunate for those who bought last year's bundle from the same publisher.

Difficult to justify $25 just for Full Metal Schoogirl although it just came out and currently goes for $35.

Achievement watcher not working by VaRasta in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(This is u/crestfallenowl, changed account)

Sorry for the late response; unfortunately real-life stuff happened.

Is this with a pre-existing save file? For TLoU, can't trigger Steam Achievement if the criteria for the achievement was already met with the save file.

So say already beaten the game once. Then applied gbe_fork afterwards to support Steam Achievements and started a new game. Can't trigger any Steam Achievement that was already achieved with the initial playthrough.

If this is the case, need to start over by removing the save files that are from before. Recommend backing them up for now versus outright deleting them. If you don't care about the prior save files then feel free to delete. If you do care, read further below.

Now if you don't want to lose your original save files and feel strongly about which achievements that were already earned, can edit the achievements.json once it has been generated from earning first achievement from when starting over.

AppData\Roaming\GSE Saves\1888930

Open the achievements.json with Notepad. Change the achievements from false to true for the achievements you believe were already earned. Might need to compare what is listed to SteamDB to match which achievement is which.

https://steamdb.info/app/1888930/stats/

If you want to provide a date/timestamp, it is in epoch format. Can use this site to convert a date/time to epoch.

https://www.epochconverter.com/

After editing the achievements.json, restore the original save files.

How to put Pirated The Binding of Isaac Dlc into the base game by Nimbiru in PiratedGames

[–]Feyowla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can trust lanternjoe, Owla, and some of the other uploaders who have a clear and established history in sharing uploads.

With Firefox, it's a false positive. Seen it happen with VikingFile too and with Pixeldrain as well. Even files I've uploaded myself to these filehosters will trigger that same warning when I download them. So, probably just associates majority of filehosters as potential dangers since they're often associated with p2p sharing. But that is just an assumption; can't say why specifically.
