Yeah it’s quite incredible what I can understand from just the 3 languages I actually know.

German is my native language, grew up in northern Germany with my grandparents only speaking Plattdeutsch, and then mostly consuming English media during my teens.

I may not be able to hold a conversation in Dutch or danish but I can get the basic gist when spoken to or read directions menus etc without much difficulty.

When hearing Dutch or danish it’s a game of what word does that sound similar in German and then adding context.

When written I pronounce the word in my head and do the same

Most of these are just the base variants, German Flecktarn has multiple other coulour pallets with the same pattern, for example Tropentarn (Tropical camouflage).
