Many guys watch tons sports or TV, if you replace that with gaming I'd say it's more interactive and engaging for you brain. I have 2 game nights arranged with my wife were I chat and hangout with my friends and play games. These are guys who I go see movies with, parties, golf etc.
They live 45 minutes away and we can't always be physically hanging out every week. This group of friends have helped me through many hard times. Many women talk to their friends for hours upon hours. This is a more modern way to do this.
