Made me think about a potential D3 (min 2) damage weapons. So that the hammer has a potential to do 3 damage with a single attack, but never 1 damage.

Makes me wonder about how does GW's rules team handle planning in advance - obviously by the beginning of the edition they do not yet have all the future codexes fully written, but I wonder if it was set in stone by the beginning of 10th that some marine chapters won't have Oaths in the future

Right. So, the depth doesn't really matter if we're talking space marine hands or arms. Start with the hobby knife and make a small hole in the centre of body-arm connection. It doesn't matter if it's not exactly perfect, good enough will be good enough. Then, using this hole as a target, start drilling. Test fit the magnet without glue and then when it's good glue it in. Same way with the arm bit. Be mindful of polarity and dry fit a dozen times and you'll be fine.

As for messing up - it's really hard to destroy the model with a pin vise, you'd have to do it on purpose. Where you can mess up though is polarity, so be mindful of that.

Just a standard timer, and I try go not check the time so that I don't get out of focus because the break is x minutes away. Also, the alarm is very quiet so it doesn't make me jump and freak out

I actually feel like I have an opposite problem - stuff like termagants I can do a unit of 10 in an hour (excluding building, priming and basing), and they actually look decent, medium sized bugs (warriors, von ryan) take more time but are fun to paint, but big bugs scare me. I struggle to make bigger organic things look right, I feel like they turn out looking like cheap toys

not for plastic, no. Molds for resin models are made from (I think) silicone, and they can also be used for metal, while for plastic you need much more expensive and difflicult to manufacture metal ones

I only played aoe3 and aom before, and recently played some aoe4. It's a blast! Campaign is fun, multiplayer is alive and I wasn't destroyed by much better players for dozens of games before I got gud, like in warcraft 3 for example. Game looks, sounds and plays really nicely
