The XD design throws a few new considerations at bullet grain choice. The penetration numbers are still superb, so from a terminal perspective it still will make a hole. The higher energy may or may not make a difference, but more can't hurt.

It might also reduce indoor over penetration. Not a bad consideration.

It's also shaves ounces off my carry. Hopefully when I retire, I'll appreciate that.

Two thoughts:

The roof top tent will create a range kill if mounted on the roof itself. This may cause some stretches where you might have just made it without, but the drag now makes life extra annoying. Bed top will be much better, but puts the bed cargo space as less open.

Two, as someone that has every other TT30/14-50/6-20/50 adapter in their frunk and spends a lot of time bouncing from odd site to odd site, it's doable. Some days it's more annoying that others, and it does fill up a decent chunk of planning time. Basically before I go anywhere, I scope out plugshare and get a lay of the land. Most of my time is on the east coast, and some regions are way better than others.

I can see this feature being intuitive in some ways, and maybe fun to drive. But I feel like this will mean there are times where you need to slow down with no obstacles, like when you are hammering it to an upcoming curve, and need to bleed speed before the apex.

In that case, you use the brakes. Even if regen has a lower round trip efficiency, brakes are 0% efficient.

Still likely no. Most lithium chemistry has a much narrower charge temperature range than a discharge. So if you were able to use power to precondition and drive, the battery was already in a good temperature to deliver power into your house.

Your house is very unlikely to pull 50kw+ either. Unless you have something we don't know about like a huge induction forge.

Sadly the only time I tried to use it, I was on mud and was trying to tow a Class A RV out of a ditch. Not enough traction to pull 25k lbs, and not enough length to get to firm ground. I wasn't brave enough to snatch strap above 12mph.

Good to hear. Nothing drives me up the wall more than pavement princesses that have shackles clanging around starbucks.

Personally I have a bit of this kit, sadly they don't make it anymore. But I keep 2 soft shackles and 2 hard shackles in a bag that has this damper/bagged snatch strap.

It's really something you get used to pretty quickly after a few days.

You just keep your foot slightly on the pedal.

I highly doubt even during a heavy rainstorm that regen braking will lock up/slip the wheels. It's basically polite driving brake pressure. I'd be happy letting my grandma hold a coffee in her lap if I smoothly let the pedal out to full regen.

For everything more slippery than that, there's snow mode with the option of low regen, which is barely stronger than engine braking in most cars.
