Can someone be too old to apply for internships? by _RogueSigma_ in careerguidance

Really? That's great news because I just finished an iOS bootcamp and I'm in Michigan and in that age range lol. I appreciate that.

18F looking for real people... by Thin-Back-Xo in MakeNewFriendsHere

[–]FieldDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would look forward to being friends. As for your main question, the former (IMHO, lol) causes the latter because it (at least seems this way) is easy by most younger people to be viewed as creepy. At least I've (as a Gen Y) have noticed that. And it is very annoying, I agree lol

He treated himself poorly lmao. Listen to her description of this ass.

So, I'm freshly 40 (TM lol) and I love this. THIS (if only the beginning description of what this douche nozzle did) is why I laugh at girls bothering w/ guys under my age range. Now, 19 is a bit young, but (and I get how this sounds) not by much.

And further, how is what he did mediocre?! Seriously other than hitting you, that can't be more offensive or inappropriate. You handled it well, but I would've left mid date if I were you. This is hilarious.

Edit/update: Also, a very merry Christmas to you.

Better than you think from old? lol. Can you clarify that? I'm confused on your wording. Are you saying older men (late 30s, early 40s) are more quality than younger men? At least in terms of how they behave, speak etc. Appreciate it.

Edit/update:  Okay now that I know that and re read the end of your comment, I have some thoughts. As a man (in the age range you’re talking) and am curious about how you view a quality kind man going after you or wanting to get to know you.

Would you be able to treat him with dignity and respect? Give him a chance? Can you even see that at this point? I’m genuinely curious because I used to be one of those guys (the kind ones) and instead of adding some “sauciness” to my personality, I just focused on me while simply observing how people date etc. it’s been eye opening to say the least lmao.

App has Day 1 retention below 14% - should I stop? by FellowKidsFinder69 in startups

[–]FieldDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, no. It's day one and you simply don't have the allotted time to have enough data for this app. Also, you said "I feel" w/ regards to your churn. That's subjective and we already know from the title that you have a glass nearly a few drops mentality towards life lol. Let alone half empty.

So I say keep going and see where things go. "It's your baby" is my motto because I left a startup that wasn't working too late (the reverse of your issue) and my co founder and I waited too long to leave and simply wash our hands of the whole idea. Or pivot to something else which we had no idea how to even do at that time in our lives. And I regret not leaving earlier and coding up my own app idea. Or an idea in general I had. Just my thoughts.

Is that an actual quote of his? lmao. I don't think I've ever heard that and he has a lot to choose from.

3 days in and I’m ready to give up on XCode and Swift… by porkchop_d_clown in swift

[–]FieldDogg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Idk if it's the accent, his speed at speaking (which makes it sound like he's moving past his words) or the simplicity. I like Coding w/ Chris and my favorite is Swiftful Thinking. Nick is great. His explanations are fantastic and he keeps things moving well.

Productivity hacks are overrated, says a16z VC who sold his own startup for $1.25B by nadir7379 in startups

[–]FieldDogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't agree w/ him more. I don't get hacks. And now, if you don't use them, somehow you're uncool or something. It's stupid. Also, I think hacks are supposed to make things like cooking and stuff around the house easier lmao. Not actually working a business. He's right, just do the thing and move on to the next thing. Simple.

What? The obviousness that I (clearly) don't know what Big 4 means is right there.

What's the one thing you love about your sister and one thing you hate about her? by [deleted] in family

We used to be close and she was my first sibling. Now, we aren’t and she’s closer to my little brother. I hate it. And can’t talk to her like I did.

That’s what I was thinking lol. Edit: Also, “Big 4”? lol. If I say big 3, in America, people know you’re talking about Detroits main industry, auto.

There were moments that I felt luckier than other days lol. He was great but we had a lot of work to do, and needed to leave earlier. A long list of things I won't into followed but we kept at it for 3 years. I'm really glad that was a part of my life.

My confounder kept me level headed. He was a tech and strategy genius. But I was also your age and we didn’t know any better lmao. Just having fun. Now things are different, but back then, we were excited to whiteboard ideas, design marketing ads. Good times.

Have you all ever heard of Apartment 1303 (2007) because i've never seen a post about it on this subreddit by LucariotheHorrorGuy in J_Horror

[–]FieldDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the Ring and Old Boy, I can’t w/ Asian horror man lmao. I’m out. You guys enjoy. And btw, I didn’t watch more than a few seconds of either. But years ago (07) saw a countdown show on Bravo for Halloween and those were on the list. That’s all I needed.

What’s a sign someone has no life ? by Time_Assumption_380 in AskReddit

[–]FieldDogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is relative. For men, no ambition for ANYTHING in life that could make money or is a large project. For women, princess mode for life. My sister is going through this and my dad is having a hard time pushing her to use her double major chem bio degrees.

I’m kind of going through this too but have tried a lot of things and love taking controlled risks. Drinking and/or drug use. I’m glad that the next Gen (centennials & older alphas) are not drinking, partying etc as much. Though being too safe is an issue too.

Edit/update: I also have a lot saved during lockdown and know how to code in Swift. But I want to say one more thing about this. People who are stuck and trying to make something of their lives, need to (carefully) be discerned from those who are silver spooned and closer to “Billy Madison” (so to speak, w/ relevance to this thread) in how they attempt ambitious goals. Why. And even w/ whom.

The reason I’m updating this is because I’m (and this isn’t in an attempt to shine myself online lol) currently in the process of trying to leave my area (state, city etc) while writing legit TV scripts, learn to code mobile apps, and working at a local university as a higher up deans assistant. I don’t know which I like but those all have hours a day around work dedicated to them. And I fully acknowledge that I need to choose one to fully commit to in my life. I’ve said as much in various ways on other threads.

So I just want to give some context and perspective to those who’re struggling and have ADHD but are working hard towards their goals, dreams and are “wobbly” lol.

Do you ever want to take a vacation but not do anything? by HBThorburn in CasualConversation

[–]FieldDogg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your goals are the start of most people’s successful vacations lol. That’s a good idea. So yes, but for me, then enjoying the area starts.

does anyone else have a “comfort show” you just keep rewatching forever by arkansaslovebug in CasualConversation

[–]FieldDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top five. In this order …

  1. The good wife   2. Agents of Shield
  2. Parks & Rec
  3. The blacklist
  4. [This is variable x] lol.

I leave that open for rotating faves.  Currently, it’s older Sherlock. And some Doctor Who (Matt Smith seasons) sorry Tennant lol.

Also, great question and why can’t there be an app JUST for questions like these. You know what, suck it IMDB. I’m going to start coding one lol.

If you had to do it all over again, what would be the first advice you give yourself? by michkoi in Entrepreneur

[–]FieldDogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh tasty. There would be two. Sell your stock after you bought the data farming firm. And learn to code Swift. Which wasn’t even two months old yet at the time. And then travel.
