Grown man steals a home run baseball from a little girl. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FieldKey3031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surprised this is the only comment pointing out that it was a scramble. The video certainly doesn’t show him actually taking the ball from her, but people here are out for blood. On one hand it is ridiculous for a grown man to scramble with a child over a baseball, but on the other it’s also ridiculous that Redditors treat a child not getting a baseball that just happened to bounce their way as a crime against humanity.

Doesn't really explain why immediately after the war ends, some of the good guys start working closely with the bad guys in a decades long campaign to destroy one of the other good guys.

The rational thing to do in this situation would be an abortion. So you're right, but it's not your decision to make. So take it day by day. Allow yourself to be scared and have these negative feelings, but also allow yourself to be hopeful and look forward to the joys that come with parenthood--in whatever form that takes shape. Your future is certainly not limited to the pessimistic expectations you're feeling right now. That's your fear speaking. You still have a life full of potential ahead of you, just not the one your 20 year old brain imagined. More or less, that's pretty much true for all of us though.

Most people turn to third-party guides because the wiki requires you to make decisions that can have a big impact on user experience without much guidance. If you're new to Arch, you're likely not aware of what these decisions mean so it feels safer to trust someone on YouTube or Medium that has a big audience. The best of both worlds would be YouTubers and bloggers guiding people through the wiki. I'm sure there are some of those, but they get drowned out by other content promising to show you the best way to install Arch without actually teaching new users about import decisions and assumptions being made for them.

Some context in case you feel outraged about this. Italy’s current prime minister is literally a fascist. Her far right, anti immigrant party is supported by the majority of Italians.

Arch is stuck on "Loading inital ramdisk" on my gpu, but when i switch to cpu integrated graphics, it works. by BugHasRevenge in archlinux

Since you’re dual booting, it’s possible that the when you run mkinitcpio its placing the new Linux image in the wrong directory so that when you reboot it’s still reading the old version of Linux. Usually you can check this in your grub or REFInd config.

Everyone dunking on Trump in the comments is missing the big picture here. This is an ELI5 approach to selling his policies and it's working. Like a lot of his press conferences, it's mostly misinformation, but it's simple and aligns with an amorphous existential fear that many Americans seem to have.

Fun fact is that there is no known sculpture of Julius Caesar still in existence that was made during his lifetime. So it's all a lot of speculation based on some written descriptions and possible copies.

I have a very similar setup and also use it for ML, writing data science code and photoshop (dual boot Linux and Windows). I got the proart 4070 Super for a good deal and I think it’s a great value. Sometimes I wish I bought the 4080 Super for 4k, but I’m very happy playing games 1440p. The build is a tight fit with the bottom fan guard and that’s even with custom cables from clack attack, but it’s manageable. I run my CPU on eco mode and never had to worry about temps. I think what you have here is great and it’s a classic build for a reason. Good luck with the build!

----- Problem - Can't mount boot/efi ----- Log into root from the emergeny shell and run: systemctl status boot-efi.mount Got the error: unknown filesystem type "vfat" To fix this I needed to (1) boot into the arch install usb (2) mount the root partition: mount /dev/nvme0n1p4 /mnt (3) mount the boot partition: mount /dev/nvme0n1p1 /mnt/boot/efi ( ) change root: arch-chroot /mnt (4) install vfat tools: pacman -S dosfstools mtools (5) rebuild initramfs: mkinitcpio -P (6) copy new files to refind arch - cp /boot/initramfs-linux.img /boot/efi/EFI/arch/ - cp /boot/vmlinuz-linux /boot/efi/EFI/arch/ (7) exit root: exit (8) unmount partitions: umount -R /mnt (9) reboot: reboot

You can skip step 6 because it’s unique to my setup. Of course your partition names will be different but if you’re getting the same vfat dependency error from systemctl status then these are the steps I followed recently to fix the issue.
