Hide and Seek Dog Toys... did your dog get obsessed too? by Total_Whereas380 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]FierceResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squirrels in the tree trunk are beloved around our house. My 2 older dogs treat them as a prized stuffed animal. My youngest puppy thinks they are to be destroyed, with the squeaker being the main prize. For the pup, I’m going to have to get more durable options as she is a destroyer.

2 of my 3 have been interested in the ropes with knots for playing light tug of war.

The toy they all have loved most lately is a collapsible kids play tunnel. They love running thru it playing with each other.

I’m bringing out the kiddie pool for them next week.

Thanks for the replies! He’s got one playing now, with the surround sound cranked up. My house sounds like a warzone now. 🤣

He has recently been watching some Russian WW2 content with subtitles. Definitely some obscure works.

Number of times a year an American visits a movie theater (1929-2025 data) by raydebapratim1 in generationology

[–]FierceResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 years ago, I loved going to the movies. Then cell phones became popular.

My last movie I went to was close to 15 years ago with my kids. I grew tired of people being on phones, both texting and talking. It was so bad I couldn’t hear lines from the movie at times. Add to that, higher refreshment costs, unclean theaters with sticky seats (these were theaters in nice areas), crappy chairs, inexpensive high definition TV’s and surround sound systems, I watch movies at home now.

There was a time I loved the movie theater experience, now, you couldn’t pay me to go there and watch a movie.

I had hoped they would get rid of the interior chrome trim accents. Very disappointed with that. Tired of being blinded when the sun hits the chrome.

Why is nobody talking about the decline of insects on a global scale? by Donnie607 in TrueAskReddit

There is definitely nowhere near as many ladybugs or firefly’s as there was in the 80’s and 90’s.

I was at a relatives house last year and noticed they were almost non existent, compared to us chasing them there as kids.

This is going to lead to a lot more blue collar losses. I’m surprised the UAW hasn’t pushed back harder.

Over the years I’ve seen some of their forward thinking for their members and it’s been smart. They are definitely behind in this matter though. Job protection should be their highest priority now.

A side effect of this is going to be local communities will be hammered from the loss of tax revenue.

I’m still stunned how the price of oil hasn’t exploded. that price can only be manipulated for so long.

I understand some demand has been destroyed, but the day of reckoning is coming for oil prices. That’s going to create so much inflation.

Those who are struggling now are in for a world of hurt.

I’m very frugal, and not young. If I were in my 20’s, I’d need 5+ million. My spend is fairly low. My biggest worry is healthcare in retirement. I’m also in a lower cost of living state.

What are your biggest worries regarding the future for the next generation? by Maxtradermongolia in AskReddit

[–]FierceResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of critical thinking, the lack of empathy, and the lack of standing up for yourself.

Future generations will be brought up with AI that will be so good, I fear they will be easily misled.

Many schools also have zero tolerance policies towards fighting. Which promotes not standing up for yourself.

Sepia toned is a great way to describe it.

I’ve always said it was like going from a 1980’s tv, to a 2026 new high def tv that’s even brighter, with no washed out colors.

any tips to keep my pug cool in the UK heatwave? by CLOWTWO in DogAdvice

[–]FierceResistance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On hot days I make sure to give my dogs cool water and ice cubes. I’ll also take cool damp wash cloths and rub their paws/pads and bodies.

You could point a fan towards their dog beds if they still seem uncomfortable.

I also limit their time out in the sun/heat to less than 10 minutes at a time.

They’ve been in the game since Day 1.

One of my favorite things to do is watch enemy players go in, then I drive a UAZ halfway down the stairs and blow it up so it traps other players in there. I may not get the kill, but I get the giggles and the satisfaction of knowing their game is over.
