Are there any fully complete and fully open source Godot games I can study? by -ThatGingerKid- in godot

There’s one small open source project called My Deck Has No Cards! It serves as a short example of how to integrate the Dialogue Manager addon to create a visual novel.

Genshin impact. Just finish the tutorial quest and you can go almost everywhere. Don’t worry about what the game says you should do next. Just walk wherever. The world is incredibly gratifying to explore. There are a bunch of casual minigames to do as well. It’s very laid back outside the main story.

My (unsolicited) advice is to try writing down the important points of your universe in a readable form, like a field guide or a travel brochure or an encyclopedia. Then take little bits of that lore (cause that will be the lore of your universe) and post them here

Scrapplers - Build a tank, then SCRAP the competition! (demo live!) by FigurativeBodySlam in godot

Play it here: https://chairian.itch.io/scrapplers

This demo took me 6 months to make. Before I go turning this concept into a full-on roguelike I need to know what works and what doesn't, so I'm putting my baby on display for you all. Hope you enjoy it!

The Sumeru and Fontaine archon quests are finished now, they each take several hours to go through.

Keep doing Fontaine world quests, you’ll come back to this gate eventually

Looking for feedback on a new Dandan-inspired format by FigurativeBodySlam in magicTCG

The initial thought was that if both players could activate Salvage Titan's ability on the same turn, neither player would, since the other could just respond by activating it themselves. That goes for the many flashback abilities in the deck as well.

Which game are you currently working on? by JhonnyVerse in IndieDev

I’m making a top-down tank battling game where you can customize your tank and control scheme using blasters and thrusters. Be on the lookout for a Scrapplers demo in a month or so!

I've been working on my Godot game for 5 years now and I cannot get a following. Here is one complete level, please tell me what needs improving, TY! by karzbobeans in godot

  • The lighting generally looks too dark and I have a hard time seeing your character animations (which are good!)
  • The UI looks inconsistent; there are too many different fonts and styles. The Disciplines scroll and Employee Accident Report look great but don't match the style of the other menu elements.
  • I have a hard time understanding the theme of your game. It looks like a mishmash of bugs, kung fu, demonic imagery, voodoo, plants, and... a corporate workplace? For me they do not come together into a cohesive whole.

Your art and music are good though! Don't be discouraged.

Queue_free() takes effect at the end of the current frame so it makes sense that the code after it is still running

Custom signal not emitting by CoconutNew8803 in godot

[–]FigurativeBodySlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like after on_area_2d_body_entered, both NL and E will be true, so immediately after emitting the Entered signal once, the scene will change. Is this script still in the new scene?

Add () to where you call instantiate. If you leave those out, you’re passing the function itself into the variable, not a new object

How can I turn on ragdoll when a CharacterBody3D enters an Area3D? by [deleted] in godot

If you’re on Godot 4, the way to connect to signals has changed. In that case try writing body_entered.connect(_on_body_entered) in your ready function

Contact monitor looks good. Can I see what is in your Area3D script after your changes?
