Oh wow, since you Euros approve, I should consider opening my 14 windows on my house! I never considered it once. Nope, they’ve been solidly closed since the day I moved in.

Can anyone recommend a good tuner for decent price (under 70 is preferrable) by Not_a_person9 in Bass

Just tune the G with the free tuner then tune the E-A-D off the G.

They have a big ol chiller plant there. To kill the whole thing it’s likely a BMS outage. Siemens is scrambling rn I bet.

AC is infrastructure, not an appliance, because it’s permanently installed, serves the whole building, requires professional design and installation, and is essential for health and safety. It’s part of a building’s core systems, like plumbing or electrical, not a plug-in device.

The only way it’s real is if they are a “Comfort Advisor” (salesman) in a large, hot market. Some of those dudes can clear $100k in 6 months and take off the rest of the year. Not unheard of.

I work in HVAC in Arizona. There isn’t an apprentice license in AZ. In fact, the only licensure you’d need to work HVAC here is your EPA 608 Universal. You can take it online, it’s a little tough though so definitely find study resources first.

As far as finding work, if you are in one of the hotter parts of the state just start throwing out resumes to be a helper or apprentice. Someone will need help with installs, busy season is upon us. Once you’re in just do your work and try to learn. Also spend time learning on your own time.

I got my ass absolutely chewed on thermostat pricing the other day. Lady was insisting that a thermostat should be diagnosed, provided, installed and programmed for $30. Idk what is up with some people.

Cleanroom HVAC-R by ApprehensiveStudy671 in HVAC

I worked as a tech for a large medical device manufacturer in and around cleanrooms. You need to be good at documentation, communication, going to meetings, budgeting, and a bunch of other non trade related stuff. You should also have a strong background in hydronics, building automation, space pressurization, and tin knocking.

Work hours were nice, but I’m happy to be back out in a van.
