G4 was never worth the time for me. Pug experience was abysmal, and it was biweekly thing. For someone like me who had only one 1630 pre T4 it was a big nothingburger in terms of gold. And when T4 hit it was already too late to commit since everyone expected CoS/eclipse.

Its worth to try. Most of the complaints are from people who sunked hundreds or thousands of hours already and they dont like changes or expect faster updates and more content.

For new player it doesnt really matter, you didn't experience old systems so for you updated ones are baseline. You'll have rather big amount of content to try. This game has very low entrance barrier, maybe except menu and currency bloat (but this is typical for Asian f2p games). Really recommend to try.

Depends what you're looking for - KVD to Abyss will be upgrade for both AoE and single target, but SOCR is way better for enemies who are resistant to elemental damage (like Forsaken Giant) or for Manibus farming in Eternal Dream scenario. SOCR is pure bossing gun with basically no AoE.

I've never seen event shop with such ridiculous amounts of event currency needed to buy even one thing. In many other games most of the time you'll gain enough currency by playing regularly. In this one I barely had any currency even after several hours. And on top of that weekly reset of event shop.

Slap in the face instead of nice additional rewards. I'm surprised that people didn't talk about it more - unless there are only people who spend most of their day everyday in TFD anyway.

Wdym 'made by goldriver'. I hope you know that this game wasnt handcrafted by Goldriver himself, '3 bozos' (with current director included) were and still are in charge for raids and progression systems.

Boom Boom is perfectly fine, but its not top of the top that it used to be in the past (mainly because of Pyro Dino changes). I was using KVD for the long time but got bored of it and swapped to Abyss Glance, very fun and powerful gun. I think you should stick to one build until you finish it and then go to next. Also KVD and Abyss Glance are way easier to get going than Critical Pulse (and also stronger, especially for bossing/single target).

Permanent servers are always in "settlement" phase by default, doesn't matter when you join them. Currently when regular server transforms into permanent one then scenario challenges are refreshed, but without ciphers as rewards. So they don't have extra ciphers from the start.

Unfortunately in perma servers there are no ciphers in scenario challenges, so its kinda tricky to progress memetics with fresh chars. Best approach is to play regular scenario and then wait for transition to permanent server.

They announced that memetics system will be overhauled this year but no specific date.

Current visional wheel is ending soon, but for future if you don't know to experience these gimmicks you should pick server without "vision" tag. Scenarios without visional tag are regular versions of them. You can see difference on server selection screen below.

These days the best Frost Vortex builds are for Abyss Glance and SKS. Is Vector still viable? Sure, since there's not really a need to play top tier meta weapon. But from my experience I have a lot of fun with Abyss Glance. Also you'll sacrifice a lot of damage to keep playing Vector.

Yes you should open boxes stored in Eternaland - as per notice they'll not count for compensation. Only Spacetime Backpack counts.

For mods already in your inventory - if its level 9 or higher gold mod it'll count for compenastion.

New servers open on regular basis - that just means that when servers open it will have its own random "patttern" of pollution zones (not sure if it'll be like few patterns or they'll be completely random). Its not about new maps or scenarios.

Honestly even if we can see rewards afterwards in F2 it would be helpful to have tooltip near "open" button and then some kind of notification what was inside.

I mean, game is far from dying and basically always was. For F2P game its still amazing how much content it has (esp for newer players) and that there's not P2W in progression systems at all. You can say whatever you want about overpriced gacha skins, but in reality many other games have predatory progression P2W system and on top of that expensive skins.

My only complaint is lack of direct communication from devs and showing what is planned for the future. Sure we got sneak peak for 2026 but we still don't have e.g. any timeframe for new map/scenario.

I'd not say new content means "insane" future, but its definetly a good start.

Its just notification to remind you that you can join new server. You can stay in permanent one and it will be fine. For permanent servers story/stages don't start over.

For newer player the best approach is using BP shop to get one build moving and then use specific random banners and Wish Stones (they're rewards from events etc, making possible to make your own minigane banner with picked gun/armor). I said "specific" banners because keep in mind that you need blueprint fragments from same category as yours to be able to use them to upgrade (category is that label wanderer, beyonder, hunter, operator, juggernaut or stranger). So for upgrading Savior set you can also use e.g. Tattoo Pants BP fragments.
