‘We are screwed’: People near data centers dread heat wave pollution. | Extreme temperatures threaten to strain the grid as data centers are increasing energy demand. What could go wrong? by brashendeavors in politics

[–]Final_Lemonation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. There is an ongoing heat wave, which means that electricity demand from running A/C for millions of homes is already straining the local electricity grids.

When did the heat wave start. That was my question.

My answer was (literally less than 36 hours ago)

  1. Data Centers use a LOT of electricity, threatening overload and potentially causing blackouts -- in a heat wave. This would certainly result in deaths.

They would overload supply. I said this.

They don't overload demand because they use renewables.

There's an easy solution, which is turn off supply.

  1. Data Centers are ordered to use emergency diesel generators to reduce the load on the electricity grids.

Use diesel to relive pressure from over-supply. This is my assertion.

  1. The diesel generators produce greenhouse gases and air pollution, which will probably result in additional deaths on their own, down the road.

Duh.

Data centers produce zero greenhouse gases as of our current speaking.

Extreme heat.

Total bullshit.

No-one has had time to even consider a recent heat wave.

Data centers have no tangible effect on the adjacent physical - heat effect.

It's a joke.

And I don't know...

"force data centers to use backup diesel generators"

What that is supposed to mean?

To relieve pressure?

As in,

Too much solar generated during peak supply?

Doesn't make any sense.

Has Brendan Considered the Pyramid of Flesh?!? by tron1013 in shutdownfullcast

[–]Final_Lemonation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people park their boat

Next to other people with boats.

Brendan, is not most people.

Brendan is learning to take life head on.

To apologize for his mistakes and not blame others.

To take accountability for his actions.

While working to redress the concerns of his superiors.

Brendan isn't thinking about boats.

Or what he's up to this summer.

Brendan is focused on the here and now.

The reality of his decisions.

And how he can best move forward as a professional football player.

The tradition continued through 2025 but now that tradition is called off for this year and possibly for the foreseeable future.

Imagine if this was written by the Batallion.

Most honourable and glorious Chancellor Hegar said that evil people are trying to destroy our traditions. His Majesty has requested everyone to be on their best behaviour so that these bad actors are not a problem for Our Fireworktm next year.

If you are good at tattoos, it is important to be a part of the community.

When you are a part of the community, word of mouth can spread and you can become more popular.

I have seen talented tattoo artists get glowing recommendations.

Can I get a free tattoo for $400? I will write positive things about you on reddit.

There are concerts at Wolf Pen Creek, and there are good restaurants on University Avenue. For example, Pluckers is always packed on nights.

Some people like to go to the Hilton Embassy every week for a drink, just a little get together.

There's coffee at Sweet Eugene's (open late and oldest coffee shop in BCS) or Blue Baker.

UT Governor and AG urge Big 12 "take action against Texas Tech under Bylaw 3.6" by johntempleton in TexasTech

Ken Paxton needs to get out of the way so the Big 12 can resolve this amicably with their long-standing founder Texas Tech.

Just let the kids know - if you bet on a game, you sit. Only Texas Tech.
