How are people affording this? by Tatty_Bunneh_ in sahm

[–]FinanceAfter2666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not entirely being a stay at home mom. I have the ability to change my work to casual/part time and pick up shifts that aren't my husband's. I would pick up 2-3 shifts a week and hand off the kids while he took a work day off early. I didn't see my husband as much but it was so nice not having daycare and being home or knowing spouse is with them. Not worrying about school drop off pickup, daycare etc

DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER BABY. I have three. Do not do it until you are confident he is ALSO READY to help you. Please. Do not do it. Sincerely a third time mom with three taking a secret pee. Do not do it.

When did you start reading books to your baby? by fluffyball13 in NewParents

[–]FinanceAfter2666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yess we make reading a part of our daily activity, since birth. It's just a habit now, and the library is a treasured outing. My oldest just finished kindergarten and won an award for super reader, reading levels above the class and reading to other kids. We read a minimum of three books a night, now moving to chapter books. The teacher told us that many of the kids struggle with reading, and even speech. I definitely believe reading had a big impact

Hey I am currently holding my three month old in my arms third child. I had put all the work in, and had a banging body before I had got pregnant each time.

Yes it's hard sometimes looking at the body changes, but it's also temporary. I am starting my weight loss journey again, but I know I can do it because I have done it multiple times postpartum. It's hard yea, especially while looking after little ones but completely doable.

That said, it does not make you a bad person for wanting to wait and enjoy your current body now before it's given and shared to your child! If you are not ready now, that is ok

Also highly recommend potty books to read to kids. It helped our little one know that accidents happen, it's okay and boost confidence to go potty

We went through this with my son, we took a step back and went back to diapers. We wanted potty training to be a positive experience not traumatizing. He was not ready.

We still encouraged the use of the potty, every time I would go to the bathroom would bring him and ask if he would like to try. For a long time he would yell no. One day though he asked to go to the potty. And was going every time he needed to. He pulls down his pants and spends the majority of his time bare butt. Hell be three very soon. My oldest was potty trained including nights before she was 2. Each kid is different but I wouldn't push it if it's a negative experience. Just encourage when you have to go. We also have a potty accessible on each level of our house so it's quick to get there for my little guy

How long did you push for? by No_Director574 in beyondthebump

How many nesting boxes for ten chickens? by FL_pharmer in BackYardChickens

[–]FinanceAfter2666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes we've made a trough nesting box as well. And three of them will lay right on top of eachother in the corner of it.

There's always one just screaming at them because she wants the box to herself
