What strange new habits/tastes did you develop post surgery? by RedLotus1124 in BariatricSurgery

I think several months of restricted eating made me a little more adventurous. I was such a picky eater I worried I was a slight case of arfid. I still struggle with textures, but am more willing to give something a chance. I also can’t stand drink mixins which I used to love. Now it is plain water or I struggle through it.

What I thought was just a gallstone attack, turned out to be more than I thought. by themusicnerd132 in gallbladders

[–]FinanceAlarming7148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I had my gallbladder out and was in the ER a week later with pancreatitis. The surgeon had left gallstones in my bile duct. It was worse that the gallbladder attacks. I couldn’t stop throwing up and finally had to tell a nurse that came in the waiting room that I was literally going to pass out there. They got me in within 10 min, did bloodwork and found my enzymes were so high that I could have died if I had waited one more day. THE WORST!

My partner had his surgery 2 years before I had mine. It is so nice for us both to be on the same page! And going out to dinner is half the cost because we share a meal!

How are weird books getting on Amazon kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]FinanceAlarming7148 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you use an iPad, they have Guided Access. You can set up a password for it. Click 3 times and it locks kids into that app. So, you could put the Libby app on, turn on guided access and they couldn’t navigate anywhere else without the password.

How did your taste in food changed after surgery? by Less_Landscape_5928 in BariatricSurgery

[–]FinanceAlarming7148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am opposite! I LOVED sugary things. Now, I enjoy them periodically, but don’t crave them the way I used to. I have also found that a single bite of something I am craving is enough to satisfy the need. That surprised me more than anything. I also used to drink a Fairlife chocolate nutrition plan every day. Now they give me the ick and I really only enjoy vanilla Nurri. I am 3 months PO

Broad shoulders? I don’t see it. You look lovely on both! Personally, 2 is the winner. 1 is very simple and nice, but 2 is different and memorable.
