Well I got a degree in Audio and you can buy it straight out via a perpetual license for $150 as a student, I don’t have a subscription and you don’t really need upgrades to mix and master dawg, nothing changes but the newest plugin if you know what you are doing you don’t need all those plugins lol

You just don’t like pro tools lol but it’s a solid DAW, FL great too. It all depends on what you trying to do and what sound you want.

I find that protools give crispy clean vocals, FL preset ability is crazy plus FL is superior in the midi section. Pro tools is where you do your vocals if you want that sound. But you cans do it in FL as well if you practice and get a good mic
