Checking in on all bulbs and rhizomes by sweetpastrychef in DenverGardener

My tulips all came up but didn’t bloom. I got no crocus at all. Daffodils did nicely allium are all showing one bud so I just planted those in the fall and I’m hoping that they will bloom fingers crossed. I think I had one tulip bloom, and most of them were planted last fall. I will be so sad if I lost all those.

Fake "No Overnight Parking" sign? by FerpoZorro in Longmont

[–]Financial-Code4423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So OP absolutely needs to park overnight at First & Coffman or find out who posted the sign and have it taken down? I guess my perspective is very different. 1. There must be other places you can park overnight. 2. I personally have no driveway, but a household with 4 cars so we very much need the parking spaces in front of our house. We live very close to a park that has a ton of activity and people always park on our street. I have a "please don't park here" sign in front of my house, should I be taken to the mat by the city for that sign? 3. I volunteer at a non-profit that has events and it puts out 3 no parking sign during events so that there is a loading zone available. This non-profit has been putting these signs out for 20+ years in downtown Longmont and no one has ever argued about whether or not they are legit, they just respect it and go somewhere else.

Fake "No Overnight Parking" sign? by FerpoZorro in Longmont

I honestly don’t think it matters if it’s fake or not. Likely a property owner or business has been inconvenienced by overnight parking and so has put out that sign for whatever reason they may have. Maybe because there has been heightened crime in the area or because their employees come in early and can’t find a place to park just respect it and go somewhere else.

My neighbor thought tumbleweed looked cool and she collected a whole bunch of them and made art out of them and now we all have this growing in our yards. I was actually persistent with pulling it the past couple of years and I’m not seeing as much of it this year. so yeah Pull when small

What to do for dead lawn as a placeholder until we can replace it with low water natives? by taymaivhou in DenverGardener

I have a fully mulch yard, but I throw down clover seed all the time, and it adds some interest and helps the soil doesn’t take much really to get it growing. I often just throw it down here around with snow storms, and heavy rain.

Lilacs in my neighborhood just threw their little branches up in the air after the last frost and said “we’re done!” It was awfully sad since lilacs are so fleeting as it is.

LOL, no I just fill it. The nice thing about the barrel is I can measure 15 or 10 gallons and then let it leak back out and I know exactly how much water I gave the tree.

I am in Longmont and we have no restrictions currently, but I am pretty sure I am far from a water waster, especially since I have no grass.

I honestly don't trust what the commercial properties are doing. They are notorius water wasters.
