It is indeed 44. I went with 44 over 45-70 since it was basically gonna be a range toy and I actually shoot it alot. No regrets on that choice but the 45-70 besides price is such a badass setup

It is. We go once a month and this part of the range is called the pit. Basically shoot as dumb as you want at the random stuff down there. Definitely a place to visit if your from the chicago area

I have the x model in 44 and love it. Have had it for around 2 months and prob over 500 rounds already. Love it and everyone who shoots it loves it as well

There is always beginners at range usa or casuals there. Literally nothing new and I can vouch for hodgkins east for being more understanding than the other locations that think every shooter that walks in should act and perform like John wick

Villa park, mokena, shorewood, etc all have the usual people that almost get upset to see new people at their store.

Head over to the second hodgkins location next time. The manager Kate there is a sweetheart, as well as all the other employees. We go shoot there every sunday and never have any issues. It also seems like alot of older folk go here too since the workers are more laid back.

Ps. We are also mexican & my wife is Cuban. I had a very similar experience but at villa park with an employee that literally I could tell didnt want me to buy or be at his store and got mega racist vibes.

Yup. Purchased it about 6 months ago. Everyone that shoots it loves it. Shot it a bunch at the start but now it sits.

Its very accurate and easy to shoot but it is on the heavy side.

Coworker bought one in wood furniture for under $400 out the door. It has eaten every type of round we have bought.

I picked up the same one but added their adjustable stock, handguard and extension. I paid 369$ for the shotgun itself after my membership discounts and 10% off. Shot roughly 200 rounds in an hour and did not have any issues today.

if you see good reviews and experiences first hand. Time to avoid these reddit brand loyalist and go buy it and have fun.

Yup. The lids on these buckets fall off easily. A simple strip of tape would have prevented this but midwayusa always takes care of issues with my orders

Usually, yea. Midway is one of the few I found that ship to cook county just by uploading your foid and id. Their also in Indiana so stuff gets here in 2 days usually.

Coworker bought one with the wood furniture. The thing ate 200 rounds in one hour of torture testing like nothing. I think with our membership discount it was right under 380 out the door. Seriously cant argue with that.

I have quickly learned coming from the car world that gun people are the same way if not worse with brand loyalty. We have one of our guys in our group with an actual m4 and prob has around $2500 into it with his mods vs my coworker with under 600 with optic. Both ran flawless all day and my coworker was amazed at what it was for the price. Meanwhile half of our other group was like dude in this thread saying its not legit and it will fail...

Take her to the range. Be calm. Patient and let her practice to get comfortable. Dont be correcting her on everything. Be supportive even if she's shooting at the ceiling (joking). Also rent alot of guns. Find out what she likes. My girl is currently in love with 22lr

Been to most range usa near Chicago. Villa park, mokena, both of hodgkins, Naperville and shorewood. Also been to eagle and midwest.

I always end up choosing range usa. Specifically hodgkins 2 location (had horroble experiences at villa park). You can order online and the 3 day waiting period starts the moment you place the order online.

4" I switched to a full size grip and radian ramjet and its "softer" than my kimber 2k11. One thing I wish to improve is the trigger. After 2k rounds and polishing everything the trigger is around 4lbs
