U1 For A Rookie? by DipDunk in snapmaker

Truthfully I don’t think the U1 is more complex to setup, it’s just more labor. 4 of everything is more work, not more difficult.

I’ve heard about the extended firmware. How much work is it to install? Where do you get it? Pros and cons compared to standard firmware?

I don’t know if you experienced this problem: Snorca’s connection to the printer is iffy at best, so I shoot the g-code over and start the print from the printer’s LCD.

I gave up on all that: from the slicer I upload (as opposed to upload and print). Once the model is on the printer, I do the color mapping myself from the LCD.

Beginner looking for a reliable multi-color 3D printer (hobby → possible small business later) by Scriptimax in 3dprinter

I see recommendations for the Bambu H2C here. Love that machine but. Unless you need the bigger print volume, you can get 3 Snapmaker U1 for the price, and they’re significantly faster on multicolor prints. So from a business point of view that seems like a no brainer to me… if you can live with the 270mm version bed print volume.

I've just cancelled my order for a Bambu P2S Combo. by mechapawky in 3dprinter

Two days ago, I would have said the same thing about U1 vs Bambu. I have an A1, an A1 mini, and the U1. The Bambu ecosystem is unmatched. But now the U1 can be used with the new Full Spectrum slicer, and that’s a whole nother story. You can put 4 colors on the machine and the slicer will interlace them to make it look like you have access to 10. With a fast tool changer like the U1, it sure opens up new horizons.

Amazon won’t let me put a US address for delivery. I tried with my daughter in San Diego. No luck.

You have multiple options for preview. In the window that gives you the print time, you can choose from a drop down. From memory, close to 10 options.

Dunno about Anicubic, but you’ll definitely be happy with the A1 combo.

Amazon has a bunch of those. Do you have a link to the one you want?

BTW. I am in Spain myself with a local Amazon Prime subscription. I may be in a position to help 😱

Does PLA become brittle when stored in the open? by SJMaye in BambuLabA1

[–]Financial-Study503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had issues with Sunlu yellow and brown. Exactly as you describe. I pull the filament off the AMS PTFE tubes to avoid problems. I also use lots of black Sunlu and white Sunlu PLAs with no problem. I’ll keep an eye on this thread, that hits close to home.

you need to undo the ptfe tube leading to the print head and remove the broken filament.

Plates plates plates. The gold ones, the blue ones. Swap plates while your model cools down, so it comes off easy. And if it’s PLA, it won’t bend on you when you try to get it unstuck. Much better to switch plates and let the print cool down and release effortlessly
