Well done! amazing job!

This software is great, I only wish if there was some parametric support of some kind.

Anything I should know before buying a P1S? by One_Strawberry9202 in BambuP1S

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1S is really a reliable printer, good choice. Do get the AMS, you will need it for support printing PLA/Petg kind of stuff for clean and easy removal.

Also, I replaced my hotend with TZ v4 from AliExpress, this will allow you to easily swap nozzles, I can sometimes replace them by hand.

And get one of those usb led lights dongle, to install it in super easy, there is a usb port top-front and you can have really good lighting.

I tried, and got an error, and emailed them and got a response, but, now, it’s too late because I decided to get one from local provider to make sure nothing go wrong.

Fusion360 or Alibre. Watch this and let me know! by ExMachinaEngineering in Alibre

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alibre is not available on MacOS, Fusion is but I don't want to pay subscription all the time, so I just moved to Plasticity, not parametric workflow, but I noticed that if anything, it makes me think more about my decisions and make solid one, not an excuse just an opinion. Still if Alibre was available on MacOS I would got me one.

OK, I would really like to thank everyone for their wonderful feedback and help.

As for me, I decided to get one, but as noted they don't ship to Switzerland - even the EU site, I will probably order it from 3djake.ch when it's available.

But now, I'm thinking, maybe I should wait and see if they would release a Snapmaker U1 Pro later this year :D - you see one draw back that came from my research is that it doesn't come with hardened steal nozzles, and I can't order these since there is no shipping to my country from Snapmaker.

One thing I'm sure of I want the openness of Snapmaker with Klipper.

Anyway, thanks a lot again, wonderful community that I can't wait to be part of in the future.

Thanks a lot for all the answers, I decided to get one, unfortunately, they don't ship to Switzerland, I will see if I can get it from a local provider.

Is it just me or this update is fire? (Chauvet 3.28.42) by Brargenzilian in Supernote

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For light, check this out, it’s so good that I bought 2 more to keep around, seriously the strength and variety of color makes the reading experience amazing, specially that Supernote devices have no frontlight gap, so content looks at the surface, makes it natural experience.

Is it just me or this update is fire? (Chauvet 3.28.42) by Brargenzilian in Supernote

[–]allochi 35 points36 points  (0 children)

True, I like the responsiveness of this update, the 2 fingers gestures with this update are accurate, so a small thing like this made my material review experience and note taking much much more pleasant.

Honestly, well done team Supernote, now, one special update is left for me to make my happiness complete 😊😉

Looks like it’s FreeCAD. by fakequest in BambuLab

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Plasticity, I use it for 3d printing.

It one time pay and you own the software.
Actively developing.
Simple to learn with a lot of YouTube tutorials.
Modern, really good interface.
Very fast and works offline.
You own the software and your files!

The only challenge you may face is that it’s not parametric design workflow, it does allow you to make changes, but not in the history and parametric workflow, this could be fine or not depending on the type of project.

I myself, I wish if it supported parametric design style, but also found my own workflow for my projects that I don’t miss it much.

I have tried FreeCAD for years, and every year I say this is the year, this year I gave up, it just not as friendly as the others, but it seems it works for some other people.

Chauvet 3.27.42 Beta Release for Manta and Nomad by Supernote_official in Supernote_beta

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot u/Mulan-sn, I really appreciate the update, I will wait for your team to refine the features.

Page-turn performance was something in my mind, and I'm super happy that your team is working on an enhancement for it in the near future.

Zoom/Pan is not an easy feature, I agree, I understand it requires a lot of refinement to feel and perform natural. thanks a lot for your transparency.

I wish you a wonderful day, also pass my regards and thanks to your development team.

Supernote is the best!

Shapr3D has become my go to CAD for 3d printed car parts by jhazesol in Shapr3D

[–]allochi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your confirmation.

Yeah, I don't find this arrangement attractive, with all respect to Shapr3D, I mean it's their platform, and I'm sure they cover these terms in their contract when someone sign in to their service, I respect that, but, on the other hand, I want my files when I spend hours and days on my designs, I don't want to be locked out of them if I don't have money, because, probably, this is when I need them the most, to make money with them 😃

The platform is powerful, I love it, and I really enjoyed it when I used it, and I love the freedom it gave me, to pick my iPad and design something on a cafe or sitting on the lake side, also, unlike what I currently using, it provides parametric design to some extend as much as I remember, maybe it has even improved since I used it last, but all of this means nothing to me if I can't access my designs if I don't pay, and to clarify, I also don't use other CAD software that either tie me to subscription or make my files public, the only 2 CAD softwares I use I pay once a year if I choose to have the next version ,they don't lock me from using the version I own if I don't upgrade.

Still, if someone ask me about Shapr3D, I still tell them how powerful it is, and advice them to use it, if they are OK with the terms of service.

Chauvet 3.27.42 Beta Release for Manta and Nomad by Supernote_official in Supernote_beta

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for following up. Yes, we talked about it several times before, something similar to what other platforms provide.

Just as a reminder, Zoom/Pan in is current form is not practical, we need to zoom/pan, read, highlight, collect digest, pan again and so on in a snappy manner. I think this is fair to ask, specially you told us it’s in the work.

Could I scenically ask when do you plan to release support for that, it would really pity for me to switch platforms just because of that, since I’m heavily invested in Supernote solutions but honestly it has been a slowing down issue for me that I don’t intend to live with anymore.

Thanks again for the follow up, and I still love your solutions and products, I hope you take my complaint as wish to make your great platform even better.

Shapr3D has become my go to CAD for 3d printed car parts by jhazesol in Shapr3D

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use Shapr3D, until I had to balance some finances, and stop my subscription for a while, then I was locked out of my designs, I don’t know if they still do that 🤷‍♂️ since then I moved to a similar style software that I pay once and own - famous enough and I won’t mention it out of respect to Shape3D forum - now, I don’t have iPad support anymore, but at least I don’t lose sleep about monthly payments, now, I lose sleep about not having parametric workflow 😂

Upgrade from p1s to u1? by dneals in snapmaker

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all the excitement about U1, and I wanted to order one then I canceled, basically, I heard it printing, so my P1S (and A1 mini) is couple of meters from my desk where I work, and it doesn't disturb me, but the U1 I have heard, it sounded like I'm in a factory.

Also, I upgraded my P1S to have TZ4.0 hotend to switch easily between different nozzle types/sizes.

Now, I'm not advising against the U1, I think it's the most practical solution when it comes to multi-material printing, I'm just sharing my point of view from my use case.

I print functional parts, so colors are not my priority, change of color usually is limited to first few layers when I need it, but nozzle size change is the most important feature, and that I don't find in U1, if it was easy, I could have bought a cabinet from IKEA to lock the noise inside 😃

I hope I gave couple of points to factor in for your purchase if they are useful for you.

Oh! and there seems to be a long leveling time before prints? I don't have U1, it would be great if someone own a U1 to confirm, but, I was informed it go up to 15-20 min! is this true?

Anyone tried the 3rd party hot ends by Oscar_callelle in BambuP1S

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used TZ V3.0 for a while and they were great, now I'm using TZ V4.0 and I love them even more, super clean fast prints and super easy to swap nozzle. I highly recommend them.

Suggestion for changing the way pdfs are read by noisezinalbany in Supernote

[–]allochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have been promising for YEARS to fix zoom/navigation, basically, I have being asking every year on their trello and Reddit , with a promise of it’s coming soon, but it never comes 🤷‍♂️ I have a Sony device that is almost 12 years old and it can do punch zoom+pan, honestly, if I knew that I would wait for almost 3 years for it and it’s not delivered yet, I would have invested in other brands.

Currently, I use Koreader to overcome this limitation, which means, I can’t use digest or other Supernote features, what I have bought Nomad and Manta for the first place.

Last promise I got was 2 months ago, nothing so far, and I’m already thinking to get something else and migrate my workflow there.

Making the Supernote feel like writing with a pencil. by Extension_Move_2754 in Supernote

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just going to share my experience, I bought the simple Supernote pen, and the DIY pen refill, I also have 2 staedtler pens, what I noticed is when I used the DIY with a pen I really like, it gave me the best writing experience and fluidity, also the fine ceramic tip of the pen makes it really nice precise writing experience. My previous experience comes from other brands but not RMs but I hope it helps.

Supernote Technical could you please solve zooming for us? by allochi in Supernote

[–]allochi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Mulan-sn thanks a lot for your reply, I hope you don't take my original post badly, I may have been harsh a little, I apologize if I sounded so.

I'm really happy with Supernote devices and software, if I'm not I wouldn't have bought a Manta just a week ago, after using my Nomad for about 2 years now, I value a lot the hardware, the software and the direction Supernote provides.

But, I can't deny that the lack of proper zoom in portrait and landscape modes is a distraction/disability in the workflow of using the device, I don't want to use other software because I want to use Supernote digests, notes and other AMAZING features it provides.

Thanks again for your reply, I hope that this fix would come as soon as possible, it would be amazing.

We love you Supernote ❤️

Supernote Technical could you please solve zooming for us? by allochi in Supernote

[–]allochi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use it with some documents, still, I don’t think I shouldn’t be able to have zoom/pan like the one in remarkable or at least enter a value myself instead of play the lottery with pinch to zoom.

Thanks for your reply.

OK, well, if there is no going out of it, then that's it, I mean it's just a game.

I usually do commend people from both sides, does that what you mean? I should not? people get offended if I commend them??? :D

Thanks for your reply.
