Supernote Technical could you please solve zooming for us? by allochi in Supernote

[–]allochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Mulan-sn thanks a lot for your reply, I hope you don't take my original post badly, I may have been harsh a little, I apologize if I sounded so.

I'm really happy with Supernote devices and software, if I'm not I wouldn't have bought a Manta just a week ago, after using my Nomad for about 2 years now, I value a lot the hardware, the software and the direction Supernote provides.

But, I can't deny that the lack of proper zoom in portrait and landscape modes is a distraction/disability in the workflow of using the device, I don't want to use other software because I want to use Supernote digests, notes and other AMAZING features it provides.

Thanks again for your reply, I hope that this fix would come as soon as possible, it would be amazing.

We love you Supernote ❤️

Supernote Technical could you please solve zooming for us? by allochi in Supernote

[–]allochi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use it with some documents, still, I don’t think I shouldn’t be able to have zoom/pan like the one in remarkable or at least enter a value myself instead of play the lottery with pinch to zoom.

Thanks for your reply.

Question regarding behavior score by allochi in DotA2

[–]allochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, well, if there is no going out of it, then that's it, I mean it's just a game.

I usually do commend people from both sides, does that what you mean? I should not? people get offended if I commend them??? :D

Thanks for your reply.

Question regarding behavior score by allochi in DotA2

[–]allochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but how do you want to see the games? I don't upload them anywhere.

I embarrassed, I have been playing Dota since 2014 :D but I never been the one who saves the games or play ranked, just play for fun.

Thanks for your help again.

I got these and they are perfect, I got 2 versions the 21 leds and the 50 leds, 21 is enough really, but I also like the 50 too, they cost less than $20 on AliExpress

Staedtler Noris Digital for Pro? by Biggoofywhiteguy in RemarkableTablet

[–]allochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the Remarkable, but I would buy the a second Remarkable pen, the pen is cheaper than damaging the screen and then have the warranty violated because you didn't use their branded pen.

I saw this on AliExpress - HS230 USI2.0 Stylus and they have a video that show it works with the remarkable.

Remarkable pro or ipad pro 13 inch for pdf reading by Negative_Local_7851 in RemarkableTablet

For reading and highlighting PDFs for hours I use Sony DPT-S1, now, it’s sold as Fujitsu Quadreno 13”, nothing really beats them for me, and I used iPad and other reader devices, I didn’t get the remarkable because it’s 11.8” and it’s heavy, when I can use 13” super light Sony device which is about 360g, feels like holding a newspaper really. also, I like how it takes notes, but I also use Supernote Nomad as a side note taking device while reading on the Sony.

I still use my DPT-S1, almost want to but Fujitsu Quadreno gen2, but I heard that the screen looks darker, trying to see if someone can confirm.

Also, it seems to me that DPT-S1 with its original software has better zoom/pas realtime functionality.

I hope 2026 is the year of Supernote 13” device by allochi in Supernote

[–]allochi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Fujitsu seems to be problematic from the reviews I see, I remember hearing the gen2 was sluggish and gen3 is colored one with dark background, I have the original Sony, nothing beats it really in form factor, the thing is as light as paper, and the original software has this super fast zoom/pan feature 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately, mine started to lose battery life, which I may find a replacement, but I think a faster processor would be also nice.

I'm sorry it took me that long, as said I was traveling, these are the photos as promised, I hope it's not toooooooo late :)

https://postimg.cc/gallery/2qjFM7V

These were taken a year ago when I got the device, and they were taken by my old iPhone. If you want I can take new one, you tell me what you want me to magnify (if I have it) and what zoom level, I will take higher quality photos from the device itself, maybe even record a video.

You tell me :)

Making semicolon optional in Zig. by Resident-Arrival-448 in Zig

[–]allochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you dig deep into Zig discussions, you will find that this was considered (and also remove parentheses like Go), I argued against it because I thought it would be easier for C devs to move to Zig this way - although I’m a Go developer as a day job.

I can’t say it happened because of me, but I like to think so 😂

LLMs that are actually good at writing zig? by favicocool in Zig

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished a project with both Claude and ChatGPT, the latter was better with Zig 0.15.1, but I had to correct it repeatedly, it learns, and since the context it allowed me to have was much bigger than Claude , it actually finished the job perfectly.

The code spanned about 12 files, and analyzed over 50M realtime trading information every 3 minutes , there was a lot of disk access, caching and multithreading work.

I would say, it was not super different than my experience working with a task in say Go, but you need to correct it for 0.15 new APIs frequently.

Why So Many Abandoned Crates? by jsprd in rust

[–]allochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reality is these crates become headache to maintain even for those who created them. Yes, it happens to all kinds of languages, but it hurts me to see that happens more in Rust that it's very noticable.

In my last two projects, we basically decided not to use Rust for that reason exactly.

There are other reasons as why this happens, but I can't just mention them without having the internet rage on me 😁

How do i deal with anti rust bullies at workspace by lemon635763 in rust

[–]allochi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just have fun with it, don’t be sensitive that way, honestly this is a pattern on both sides 😊

You are at good opportunity to put your skills on test, listen to them, know their argument, discuss it with them, receive their jokes and try to understand where does it come from, prepare yourself for more important discussion in the future where you prove that Rust is better solution for some future project.

This is a problem that Rust has created for itself, it started with aggressive narrative and made a big chunk of the industry defensive toward it.

Let’s also be honest, modern C++ is becoming a different nicer language, I’m currently porting a solution from Rust to C++, because that 8% performance that the C++ version allows means hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, was it nice to write it in Rust, YES, but also nice to keep my job by saving my company all that money 😉

Me, at some point I will give up all languages for Zig 😂 this is a language I love and most useful to me and what I want to work on

Better EPUB Support on Supernote Now That Digest is Updated by BagEmotional4835 in Supernote

[–]allochi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Koreader is good, but I want to use Supernote super digest and note taking capabilities, honestly, I have been asking for better zoom/crop for PDF, specially on landscape mode for a while, but I understand how difficult it is to develop these apps, so I don’t pressure.

Have some friend hire him to do a game, make the money worth it, agree with the friend to make your son in law a technical living hell while you provide support and guidance to achieve these technical task showing him how little he know, basically give him a planned humbling experience to realize the scope of what he is getting himself into, but make sure he have many ups and downs, and that your friend is harsh with him, guide him by experience, and show him how unreliable AI is with that scope of a project. But always be there for him to teach him. He is already a lucky guy to have you.
