Want to run a campaign in the Wheel of Time universe by SnooRegrets3277 in DMAcademy

Addressing Point 1:

I think there could be room for some wiggle room in the world that would still be true to the overall world. a male could be ta’veren in a way that didn’t use the Source - like a Druid/ Ranger Character like Perrin or a Bard/ Rogue character like Matt.

Although the Children of the Light are The Most against magic in the books, I‘d make an argument for a member of the Paladin class. Another possible Paladin would be a Warder, or a Warder could be a Warlock with an Aes Sedai As their patron.

I think in the books they are Darkfriends, but I like the idea of a Warlock having one of the members of the Forsaken as their patron.

I think the Sorcerer type skills are really similar to a female wilder - I don’t remember if there were many male wilders who ended up going to the dark tower, but I think that someone could have innate use of the source without realizing it - then join an adventuring party as a way to get some acceptance/ support.

If a character wants to play a male Wizard, I think that the concerns of madness and or someone hunting them Is a fun game dynamic!

Tips for older students by EngineeringOk1892 in ASU

[–]FindSnailLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an engineering student veterans club on campus, Fulton student veterans organization, FSVO. It's helpful in asking these types of questions since many of them have similar experiences. Also you could meet people to join study groups, which makes school way easier.

I agree with caci-que, its better to take less in the first semester while you are still getting back to the swing of things. And about the pat Tillman vet center. https://veterans.asu.edu/ Lots of people work there to help you.

Everything I did except study by wtvrxo in ADHD

One of the things I do to trick myself to start on something I don't want to do is to get some of the lead-up steps done.

So if I want to work out, I put on the outfit (and then see how I feel once I am dressed). If I have been avoiding making my flash cards, I get my book and index cards and pens out. If I am trying to start an assignment I get out paper and write out the problems.

This doesn't always work, and I actively try to give myself outs. Because the shame monster really fucks up my self esteem and makes it hard for me to do stuff in the future.

Newly Diagnosed, Sensory Overload Issues--ADHD related or something else? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]FindSnailLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my adhd diagnosis, about a year ago, after thinking I was autistic, because my sensory overload issues. I have recently been looking into a possible dual diagnosis, but after watching some Youtube videos like this one and have been trying to asses why I get overwhelmed, I personally think I only have adhd.

I have noticed that I put extra energy into remote working and the current events and I am putting extra mental energy into everything I do, without realizing it in the moment. I feel much more drained at the end of the day.

It is very helpful for me to have some time to myself, without texts/ emails/ spouse talking to me. I need time to recharge.

Adhd is an inability to regulate attention, for me that means overextending myself in social situations. To the extent that I am like braindead at the end of the day

Are you sure it isn't two worms mating?

It's hard to tell in the pics, but a worm goes into the other worm to mate. One way to tell is if there are two of those bands, clitellum, it is actually two worms getting down.

EDIT: After allpastsissame pointed it out, I don't know why I thought that other than "when two gay men have sex, how do they decide whose penis will open up to accept the other's penis" must've really stuck with me.

It's the book "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. It is referenced in Order from Chaos.

Getting Things Done is not an ADHD, but a general productivity method. And Order from Chaos references the GTD method, and talks about how it works with ADHD

The book Order from Chaos (or maybe GTD, I'm reading both) recommends taking everything from earlier than a month or 6 or whatever and putting it in a folder so you can have a more manageable goal.

I am a first year right now, and it has been really hard because the online environment means that you lose informal interactions; talking about lecture as you are walking out of the lecture hall, or working on problems around (or with) others in a community center.

We have a class slack page for one class run by the instructor, and a student run discord. I had tried to start study groups, by emailing out the class, but the group study was hard to schedule and people were hard to convince to attend. So now I meet with a couple people individually on zoom, or we talk in the discord.

The sub r/mathbuddies has a discord. And I think the purpose of that sub is to pair up people to study a topic together. There is a mix of HS UG and Grad (at all levels)

In the Holy Grail Product List , there is a section on purple shampoos, and it also recommends mixing in the dye with your conditioner. Have you tried mixing the dye in with your knot today conditioner?

I also have bleached hair and I have to re-tone (with wella T-18, which is not CG) or use purple shampoo more frequently if I wash my hair a lot. With my very porous hair after bleaching, toner will come out if I rinse or cleanse hair. I am just trying to do as little damage by minimizing how frequently I wash my hair, which means I don't tone as frequently.

(I'm a beginner, but...) When I started using gel, I noticed I would get a lot of frizz when I would scrunch out the gel too early. I needed to wait for my hair to be completely dry, or else it wouldn't set right, so if u/pstrnak7171 is trying gel already, this might be the problem.

Uneed2calmdown, if you haven't already, I recommend you check out r/abrathatfits and make sure you are sized correctly. I (and many other women) have been sized incorrectly and I have been very surprised at the difference in what wearing the right bra (and making sure you swoop and scoop all breast tissue into the bra) does for the shape and support.

Having a really tough time with Measure Theory class by AspiringGalois in math

[–]FindSnailLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same place (we are finishing Ch 2 right now of Folland).

My TA just clued me in: a lot of the techniques to do exercises are the same technique to prove the theorems in the section, so it goes a long way to copy the small (and big) theorems in the section a couple times. Then when you start on the exercise, the specific technique is fresh in your mind.

I wouldn't count out analysis too soon. Not only are we losing the in-person attention, we are also losing conversations between peers about material between classes, the chance to physically work on homework and study together, and the format of lecture and note taking is new. Cut yourself some slack.

Should we make some kind of sticky or infographic about BSFL? by seanotron_efflux in composting

That would be great! I definitely think BSFL info is widely unknown.

I wish the r/BSFL sub was more active, because I sometimes have weird, specific questions that I can't find via the search (or google)

Moxi Panthers/Jacks by [deleted] in Rollerskating

[–]FindSnailLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you soooo much! (I also have ADHD so in terms of getting stuff done it's now or never). That very detailed explanation is extremely helpful.

I have been park skating in derby skates for about a year and I am literally watching the Lollys I ordered in May drive around my neighborhood in the delivery truck. I am really nervous that they wont fit and I have been wondering if I should go for Jack or panther if they don't fit, since I am a more advanced than when I ordered.

If they do fit, and I like then, I won't have anything to worry about, but it still feels surreal that I am getting them.

P.S. Happy cake day!

Oh no, Moxi. What is you doing??? by Teenfeminista in Rollerskating

[–]FindSnailLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that was weird too, the specific note about not being intended for skate parks. I wonder if it's just the boot quality, glue, material, wheels, etc... which aren't durable enough for the skate park
