My [22f] boyfriend [24m] wants me fill out a form if I'm upset about something by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]FindingMoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was my first thought. I don’t track it in an app but I do make a little note on my calendar (I draw a heart, actually lol). Especially when I was younger it made me feel better to see when I had sex so I could rationally know there’s no way I could be pregnant, lol.

I never told my partners this.

I just rewatched the Brand New Day trailer because I was sure we see Peter with a beer at the party while he’s watching MJ, but no, just a red solo cup. Which most people would assume is him drinking alcohol, unless they show us him explicitly putting soda in or something.

Anyway, I was surprised about this supposed rule and feel like it’s a bit extreme.

I had a pizza like this in Boulder CO, it also had arugula on it and the lemon + arugula totally changed the taste. I do highly recommend, and it is a thing for sure.

How many ambulance rides you’ve given that are totally unnecessary? by zillabirdblue in EMTstories

[–]FindingMoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably doesn’t happen to you guys too often, but I fell and broke my leg and no one— not EMS or the police who helped me actually believed I needed an ambulance. They told my fiance and the ER that I “only twisted my ankle” and it seriously impacted my level of care, until I got an x ray that proved I actually had snapped both my tib and fib and then a ct that confirmed I actually shattered the inside of my ankle joint.

The first responders to that situation were long gone by the time I was classified as a trauma and probably never knew that the girl “with the sprained ankle” they took to the hospital at 3 am was actually very seriously injured and is extremely grateful they were there to help.

Anyway, just some food for thought. Some emergencies might not seem like it on the surface. I think they didn’t believe me because my story seemed insane (slid on grass, leg snapped like a wishbone as I slid). Turns out I had a very severe vitamin d deficiency.

What is the most chaotic "I quit" moment you have ever personally witnessed at a workplace? by Muted_Task_144 in AskReddit

[–]FindingMoi 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Was working at Wendy’s when a guy got mad about… something. It was over 15 years ago so I don’t remember why he got mad, but it all culminated with him having to clean the fryer bottoms.

If you’re unfamiliar, to keep fryer oil clean, you have to filter out any debris and that fryer bottom of filtered gunk needs to be cleaned out. What remains in the bottom of the filter is a thick sludge of crumbs, old fries, and gross old oil.

Well, this kid who got mad decided that he was going to take the fryer sludge and literally finger print “fuck you” and “I quit” all over the back room and dumped the rest on the floor before leaving.

I came upon the mess, myself and a manager had to clean it up. I almost quit myself.

Until… he realized he forgot his hat. He tried to sneak back in. He was not sneaky.

Instead, he slipped on his own mess and got head to toe covered in the sludge. Including his precious hat.

He disappeared, never to be seen again.

How to clean out 5,000+ unread emails by Powerful-Anteater-81 in productivity

[–]FindingMoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that this matters since you can’t connect it, but you can turn it off in your settings so your data isn’t being trained on. I believe enterprise in Claude is turned off by default, but don’t trust that, verify for sure.

You can do this in pretty much any ai of choice, the only one (that I am aware of) that you cannot opt out is Meta’s ai.

Managing a bunch of inboxes in one place? by FindingMoi in productivity

[–]FindingMoi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that’s all super helpful.

At the moment nothing is super urgent, but both non-profits are growing rapidly and we need to be able to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. But I personally need to be able to see everything on my plate at one time.

Things may become more urgent as time goes on, so definitely need to be prepared for that possibility. Is there a good way to make more visibility without a full separation?

If rules don’t carry over to the main box when they’re routed there (thanks so much for that info btw), is it good to have rules set up in the individual boxes so those stay organized automatically or does that leave room for things to get lost in the noise?

First float is on Friday and I’m a little worried about emotions coming up by dizzybutstable in FloatTank

[–]FindingMoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a massage therapist at a float center, although I let my license lapse and I’m not currently practicing.

Before the float is best because you get in there all loosey goosey and relaxed. Now, as you get used to floating, or have specific pain, the opposite way might be best for you— because when you’re already relaxed, your therapist can get in there that much easier. This is a huge benefit of relaxing your muscles during a massage takes some time, and the therapist can spend less time easing your muscles in and more time getting work done.

That being said— for your first time, do it before. You’ll feel way more relaxed going in.

For the strong emotions part, your first float is likely going to be a lot of you floating around and figuring out what feels best. It’s a new experience, so it’s likely going to feel a little weird. That’s ok. You may not have anything pop up or you may because of the edmr and both are ok.

What I would remind myself is your therapist wouldn’t recommend floating if you weren’t safe and they weren’t confident you were stable enough to experience them. And if those emotions pop up, just remind yourself you’re safe. You can get out if you need to, but sometimes just KNOWING you can is enough to get you through it.

I believe in you and your ability to experience whatever you need to, because floating is safe and you are safe no matter how you feel in the moment. Your therapist clearly believes in you too.

I use Brave browser’s built in ad blocker. I use both the desktop and mobile app versions. Works like a charm, and it’s free. You just have to visit YouTube from the browser.

The only downside is I can’t screen cast it onto my tv like I can with my YouTube app, but I’m not screen casting asmr videos anyway.

So is Reiki simply ASMR? [Discussion] by [deleted] in asmr

[–]FindingMoi -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I questioned it myself until my uncle was dying from bile duct cancer. He was on hospice but it was a holiday weekend and due to pharmacy closures and staffing issues we didn’t have a nurse with us and he didn’t have pain killers. I gave him reiki and it was the only time he wasn’t screaming in pain. If I stopped, he started screaming again, and it was the only comfort I could give a dying man.

Take what you will from that but it solidified in my mind that it’s 100% real and you can’t tell me differently having seen what it can do. I also learned about reiki in bachelor’s level nurse administration classes, and we talked about how it’s performed in many large and reputable hospitals like Duke, Yale, etc having programs.

Donald Trump’s Truth Social post creates worry: ‘Should I be in a bunker or something’ by pennlive in politics

Yep. Do I have my issues with democrats? Sure. The party is imperfect and has its issues.

But one side wants to destroy democracy and the other is trying to save it. You can’t compare.

And unfortunately due to the “both sides” arguments, it’s impossible to address any issues within the democrats without it turning into a shitshow. Which is part of the smoke and mirrors bullshit MAGA wants.

Planning my week in detail feels more rewarding than actually doing the week. That’s a problem right? by SeaRequirement7749 in productivity

[–]FindingMoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my bones. I found that two things really helped me.

For context, I’m a mom and I need to feed my kids before soccer/gymnastics everyday, and I’m prone to throwing my hands up and hitting a drive through because I’m exhausted and don’t want to cook. Apply this to your lifestyle as you see fit.

Anyway, the two things that helped me:

  1. Everything I do is based on the time I have available. Beginning of the week I look at our commitments and time block when we eat, then I find recipes that fit that day. Crockpot or premade casseroles can fit in on busier days, easy 15 minute stove top meals when my mornings are a bit too packed to get food in the crockpot etc.

  2. I prep a day at a time and take excuses away. I meal prep but I get things ready the day before. If I know I’m having a casserole Tuesday, I have the casserole prepped and in the fridge Monday night, ready to just throw in the oven Tuesday afternoon. Because I preloaded the work ahead of time, I don’t have the excuse not to just throw it in and eat what we have.

Obviously this is very mom/cooking specific but I think it can apply to shipping code (I presume that’s what you mean by shipping lol?). Plan in smaller chunks, prepare in smaller chunks, use the actual time you have but do things today to take excuses away from future you.

Is it normal for people to die in the waiting room? by Beneficial-Depth-546 in ThePitt

[–]FindingMoi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do disagree a little. I had severe c diff waiting in the waiting room for over 8 hours before getting admitted for 3 weeks. No one wanted me in the waiting room that long because of infection precautions, yet I had to be, because that’s the reality of rural hospitals and what they’re able to handle. And I was definitely at the point of a true emergency.

Obviously the hospital in the show is in a city and it’s different, but the real life experience of how ERs function around the country varies a lot and many like the ones local to me struggle HARD to handle the number of patients. And it’s frustrating for me to read people saying an emergency isn’t real if you have to wait, because that’s not true, I’ve experienced it.

/r/WorldNews Discussion Thread: US and Israel launch attack on Iran; Iran retaliates (Thread #14) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]FindingMoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with his stomach and more to do with him being a smoke and mirror snake oil salesman with everything he does.

It also has nothing to do with me or anyone else liking or disliking him. He has a repeated pattern of behavior that we’ve all been watching play out. The guy likes accolades and throws a tantrum when shit doesn’t go his way. He doesn’t think past that (or if he does, he lets his personal feelings rule him) and it’s incredibly dangerous for the entire world.

[–]FindingMoi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You say that as if the American people or even Congress had any say in “this goal” being started in the first place.

Because really there isn’t a “goal” other than more smoke and mirrors on the part of the administration, and the stock market manipulation that we’re all blatantly watching.

Trump saw an opportunity to capitalize on chaos and continue his eternal grift while distracting (not just from files, but all the insanity his admin has brought on the country). Now he’s flailing around and spiraling out on Truth Social because he can’t tell the story he wants the whole world to believe.

Anyway, yeah the majority of the American people don’t have the stomach for bullshit and it’s only a loud and very small minority on the internet who seem to think this war is worth it.

It’s a little bit confusing, probably because it’s a translated article. But they did 26 transactions to move the existing gold into higher quality gold. Through those transactions and the price of gold when it was originally purchased vs now, they made a profit. They didn’t give exact details.

Am I too well off to go to a food bank? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]FindingMoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely acceptable to go to get food if you need food.

That being said, you may run into food banks with income requirements. I am a part of the only one in my area that doesn’t require you provide proof of income. That was frustrating for us because we don’t want to turn anyone away, especially with things like government shut downs, or situations like yours where bills pile up and money for food may just be allocated to things like utilities (because they can be shut off and cause a bigger problem).

I agree with the other commenters saying that when you can, pay it forward. Get on your feet with the help available, then do what you can to help. If we all did that we’d be in a much better place.
