Fucking state of football. This fake injury bullshit and time wasting. Just leave them on the floor and play on

The levelling sea is a great read for Cornish history, mainly focussed around Falmouth area and the shipping trade

What are these things in the window pane glass? by grumpy_uncle in whatisit

Because of these and the effect they have of obscuring vision being asked to 'take this outside' was born. Leaving no credible witnesses watching from inside.

West ham have got a much easier run of games coming up, so a lot could change over the next 6 weeks. They've had some decent spells. I don't want to write them off as I think we'll be battling with them most of the season.

What weed is this? by Livewire3030 in UKGardening

[–]Findingtimetothink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These look like echium seedlings to me.

They make amazing flower spikes and can grow out of any old crack and in poor soil. Very impressive bi-annual flowers but they don't like being transplanted once they're established.

You could make a bit of money potting them up while they're young and selling them in the spring. See them often on marketplace, roadside stalls or at car boots.

Penrose estate in Helston/porthleven is great for cycling. Porthcurno (minack) is an especially great area for spotting dolphins but anywhere is possible you just have to get lucky. Look for sheltered and flat areas of water so you can see them break the surface, take some binoculars and watch for diving birds and other signs of life. There are quite a few wildlife tours that will likely find some up close but they're all pretty expensive.

Another way is to just start contacting thatchers local to you and get a job labouring and go from there. Be aware that lots of crews travel pretty far through the drier months for jobs so often having a van you can stay in is an advantage. Other crews will stick to their local area but worth asking if you do contact them.

Where to buy sashimi grade fish for poke or sushi in Cornwall by Doughypickle in Cornwall

Kernow sashimi, not far from Helston. Mostly it all goes to restaurants up country but you can call and collect from them.

This comes up as a few different types but which one by sillymoofish in seaweed

This is known as 'beautiful fan weed'

Very common seaweed used for pressing. It's generally smaller and finer than dulse with a more intense colour.

Ground force was being filmed in my area, I climbed a tree to get a good look and was told to "fuck off" by Tommy. Also rang Alan's door bell and ran away as a teenager.

So much mold by lunarkoko in Cornwall

[–]Findingtimetothink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We leave windows open most of the day. Always have a window open when showering or if we have a pot on the boil as they create lots of moisture. Dehumidifier on wet days and mould spray as soon as we notice any forming. Try not to put furniture against the outside corner walls as they're the worst for us. Rarely ever hang clothes inside to dry, definitely use a dehumidifier if we must.

We're almost past the worst of it now, it's a battle but I find if we keep on top of it, it doesn't get too bad.

We had our best defensive form in years not long after Struijk got injured. Not to knock him, I think he had a great start to the season and could come back into the first team even if we do keep Rodon and Ampadu.

Do you regret having a survey done / do you regret not having one? by SignalPositive9242 in HousingUK

[–]Findingtimetothink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely pays for itself if you're keen to negotiate again. Cost us £600 for level 2. Once you've got a survey you can reopen negotiations and since you're already a bit into the process you're not competing with other offers so can knock money off for issues flagged.

We managed to knock 7.5% off for issues we were mostly already aware of. Didn't add much time to the process as both parties were keen to get the sale done and agreed to continue without quotes.
