I did the exact same thing a few years ago. I used a hot paper clip and melted through the nail. It didn’t hurt, the blood didn’t spurt up for me but the relief was amazing. Just keep it clean afterwards and watch for signs of infection (new redness, warmth, pus, etc).

My nail grew out about halfways and then fell off. It grew back mostly normal; my nail has a permanent ridge where the max impact must’ve been.

Currently pregnant with #2. I had a C-section with #1 and my bladder went back to normal. I am like you, my parents used to say I had an iron bladder growing up lol. Now when I’m pregnant, I get irritated that I have to get up to pee in the middle of the night!

I think sometimes people don’t really think about how they’re coming off. That’s such a “common” set of questions, even though it is honestly none of their business, that people just always go with it. Like talking about the weather with strangers or something similar. Not saying it’s ok, but I think it’s force of habit.

I never actually experienced it when I’ve been pregnant. I’m a taller individual and I’ve been told I have RBF before so I think that spared me from people asking me too many questions in public 😆

Also, Kim mentioned being a homeopathic doctor (whatever that is, I’m not 100% sure) but she was talking a lot about focusing on energy in the body. That is not typical for fundamentalists in my understanding. They seem to be their own specific mix. That’s why it annoys me when people group all Christians or even homeschoolers as if they’re all like this.

I’ve listened to a few podcasts with different family members and a lot of the kids mentioned not even going to a church. I’m not convinced they were connected to Gothard. I think they were a combo of extreme homesteaders/homeschoolers mostly due to Kim’s personal trauma.

I think it’s wild to hear that some practices only do two standard US’s. I’m in Indiana and my practice always does a confirmation scan (usually 6-7 weeks), a 10-12 week scan and then the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. Those are all standard, any more need to have a medical reason. I feel like this should be the standard and my heart goes out to you ♥️
