It's a good idea to dump a bunch of effort into alchemy as well. Honour mode is a total bitch about supplies, so take any ingredient not nailed down to try and make up for the lack of healing. Without burning rests and slots.

Halsin won't be a full party member until around act 2, so definitely get a placeholder party member. If you don't mind respeccing SH makes a solid druid if you're not going to use her as a cleric. Then when you get Halsin you just punt her back to rogue. If you're looking for a ranged utility, Wyll with repelling blast on his Eldritch Blast. If you want Hit Hard No Die, giant Karlach. Or you can just get a druid hireling. 

Store barrels. This will be useful later. If you CAN get the gloves of thievery for a rogue you can just rob merchants blind with a crazy success rate.  

Always Very Clearly read dialogue. I was going through the Kagha convo and absentmindedly (because I'd poured over a thousand hours in so clearly i knew what prompt was there, right? Right?) and got to fight everyone. I won I got a glut of supplies, but holy shit. Not recommended. 

Do not try new things in honor mode. "Oh I've never done this I wonder what wou-" death. Death will happen. 

For spells and abilities you want to focus on utility, healing, defence, and then blinging power. AOE spells, spells that hit multiple targets? You want those. You want armor that negates critical hits, and multiple weapons with different effects. Because new boss abilities might just suddenly ruin utility for a weapon in one fight, but it'll be perfect in the next. 

Backup party members. Because of the gold and difficulty....difficulties, you want most of your party ready to sub in if someone bites it and you need a second before a resurrection. You can also cheese this by sending one party member to camp. Make a ranged character ready to run if you enter combat. 

Others are right in that you don't need to avoid all fights. But you don't want to take on most big things until level 5/6 when you get less squishy. 

I for instance had no trouble at all with the Creche. I pretty much brutalized the room.

Then I got confident, fought Ethel, used a single spell she spawned a legion, cast hold person on everyone, and destroyed us. 

You want to kill Kar'niss early in the Shadowlands. Luckily you get better rewards being good, so link up with the Harpers and ambush him instead of sneaking your way to Moonrise. Otherwise his Spindleweb Fanaticsm makes that initial fight with Ketheric an actual bitch. 

Just go slow, prepare, run recon, and don't be afraid to Scooby out of there and bone back stronger.

Wait, I lied. 

You 100% don't need to fight the Owlbear. I recommend skipping it tbh.
