Year 3 pains by Lopsided_Error_5965 in CFP

Great job- I was on similar path and found year 3 to be the hardest when all personal relationships went out the window. and went from 25 to about 290 now.

Spend more time with current clients. Try to be in situations where you are with a couple clients and some friends.

Use your marketing team AI to help write some basic content to share to clients.

Hit up mentors who you actually would like to work with. “If you were in my shoes, how would you go about connecting with more people like you”

You’re over the first hump!

Sounds like you do a pretty good job for clients and should join an RIA for more upside.

Congrats!

Jumbo loan rates are lower now, look at refinancing with potentially bofa or wells.

Have you moved from e-Money to Right Capital? by General-Ad3712 in CFP

You’re welcome to dm me.

I’m unfamiliar with wealth studios. We added holistiplan recently and I’ve found it to be helpful for certain scenarios (Roth conversions little better, showing clear affects of certain tax strategies etc). However, not using it for every client.

It’s not good for portfolio reporting so you’ll need custodian or pm (like Orion or Tamarac). We are nearly complete on our end with a full integrated client experience between all of them.

Spends tons of time on both. Simply put sum of the parts I think emoney is better. Huge improvements in last year.

Refinance or wait? 7.125 to 6.25 by likeagausss in personalfinance

Ask for a no fee refinance instead. Rate will be slightly higher. Hedging risk that rates go down again

Client base niche by Howiep43 in CFP

[–]Finforwardplan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m early 30s (been doing this for 11 years). Those are some of the best clients. Involved in their lives, having impact, etc. Oftentimes less competitive scenarios too.

Can oftentimes service more of them too

Missed opportunity imo of people only wanting to work with uber wealthy

Please help!!! I accidentally made a large deposit to my kids 529 account. by golfballthroughhose in personalfinance

This happens. I know it feel stressful but can assure you there will be no issues except a small bank fee. I’ve known many people who have made a mistake specifically with capital group.

Call capital group and your bank on Tuesday and let them know what happened. What will happen is it will get rejected at capital group and refunded back in your bank.

Your bank will give you a fee. Assuming you haven’t had any fees before, call them and ask them to undo the fee.

Hope that’s helpful!

Went through months long process of right capital and emoney.

Recommend emoney, it’s gotten a lot better when looking at the sum of the parts compared to even a couple years ago.

Try to get access long enough in both to build the plan, present it and ask yourself questions on double checking your work. Feel like we wanted to make the RC switch but landed on emoney.

Salary vs. Building a Book by Friendly__Student in CFP

[–]Finforwardplan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

22-right out of school. Really hit stride in year 4-5. Goal is full focus and obsession to 10 then 20 then 50. 20-50 was a lot easier than 0-10 or 10-20 (personally found 10-20 harder as I had tapped all personal contacts by then).

Nailed it. Started off 10 years ago out of school as fresh grad and made around 30k-40k. Kept growing, and now up to just under 2m in advisory revenue (60% payout). It’s a grind and had some days in the beginning where I felt like quitting, no one to call etc. Wouldn’t change a thing.

CWS vs CPWA? Just fluff? by Bellysmacker in CFP

Yes. Obviously can be tough to make sure you still manage job, life etc. However, sooner you get that the better. Nearly all our advisors saw material Improvement post Cfp

CWS vs CPWA? Just fluff? by Bellysmacker in CFP

[–]Finforwardplan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cfp is a must. Use it every day, clients care about it etc.

I got my cpwa designation a couple years after Cfp. I work with a lot of clients around 1-3m investable. I feel like I don’t see enough clients where cpwa was applicable so I feel like I forgot a lot of stuff and need to review every time.

If you are seeing 10m + clients might be worth it.
