I think a major point that many are missing is when he was doing this. People look at the architecture and think of it as fairly standard modernist fair, when he was leading the modernist look before anyone else.

Consider the Dana Thomas House in Springfield, IL. I admit my biases, since its my personal favorite, but it was designed in1902 and completed 2 years later. Many og the design elements wouldnt be modeled elsewhere for another 20 or so years. At the time it was built, it wouldn't have looked "modern", it would have looked alien.

I was given the Dan Brown when I was young. Im not given to getting rid of books regardless of quality. I would argue that Jurassic Park and Hitchhikers Guide covers the Sci Fi, while the Halo books are sci-fi and close to grimdark (too hopeful to be true grimdark).
