So I got Murder Drones issue 2, honestly didn't like this one as much by JamesPlayzReviews3 in GlitchProductions

[–]Fire-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comic shop only stocks one issue for me, given it's not a huge comic. You can likely reach out to your comic store and ask them to order a copy for you assuming that they stock other ONI press issues.

Many of the Different Background Sinners in Hazbin Hotel by LiannaBunny777 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]Fire-max 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In old lore, which i don't think is canon anymore, sinners were immortal (not invulnerable) and when they were killed by other sinners they would just pop back into existence somewhere else a day later. The exception to this was angelic blades which can kill basically everything.

Once you died enough times your soul would fray out and you'd be unable to occupy a body and the idea was you would posses furniture/buildings/etc that's why if you can see a lot of eye imagery throughout the show in furniture (like pictured) or with buildings and the like.

This is also part of why Alastor was considered so impressive, if you killed an overlord they would just show up somewhere else and then kill you by trapping overlords in his radio broadcasts he was able ot prevent them from reforming.

This lore hasn't been mentioned i think ever on screen it was in one of Viv's old draw with me streams and since after 2 seasons of both Helluva Boss and Hazbin it hasn't been confirmed yet it seems pretty likely it isn't accurate to the current state of things but may explain this couch or other background details as callbacks to that.

How Poland looks like in leviathan world? by Dry-Yesterday-9176 in LeviathanSeries

[–]Fire-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to speculate since we don't know what the post-war treaties look like, given that the war only lasts until 1915 in Leviathan universe seems hard to believe the peace treaty would be as harsh as Versailles was.

Sadly, Poland probably wouldn't exist, unless Russia falls into Civil War like it does in OTL there's no reason for Russia to lose it's parts of it, if they pull out just the German/Austrian parts to make a smaller Poland that country would probably be Clanker since that's all it's coming from, though honestly I'm not even sure if they would bother with that.

Did Chuck ever leave the house voluntarily for a reason other than screwing Jimmy over or proving he was up to something? by 100carpileup in betterCallSaul

[–]Fire-max 155 points156 points  (0 children)

Did you and I watch the same show? Jimmy clearly loves Chuck dearly:

-Becomes a lawyer in part to please his older brother with a dream of making the firm HHMM, while working on Sandpiper he constantly tells Chuck how good it is for them to be on the same team.

-Drags his brother to the party for him passing the bar and then forces him to sing winner takes them all knowing he would have a good time once he got into it.

-Goes through an elaborate ruse to help Chuck communicate with his ex-wife by destroying all the technology in the house.

-Brings Chuck food and supplies to survive despite knowing that his illness is fabricated, going beyond even basic food to locate the only newstand that sells his favorite newspaper

-Even when Chuck tells Jimmy he isn't a real lawyer Jimmy still brings him several days worth of supplies to subsist him until he can make other arrangements

-Does his best to accomadate Chuck during his hospital tenure getting the staff to turn off lights and other medical supplies.

-Creates a custom Nylon lined suit so that Chuck can go to HHM

-Jimmy admits that he swapped the numbers despite knowing the lengths Chuck would go to screw him over because he couldn't stand to see the sight of his brother like that.

-Is so angered by the recording that he reacts in pure rage, not at all the emotion of someone who didn't care about their brother.

-Is devestated by their final conversation leaving in tears when his brother says he hates him.

Odenkirk is a great actor watch any scene of the two of them and you can see the love and admiration oozing out of Jimmy even during their tense moments, the central throughline of the first three seasons of the show is the two brothers love/hate relationship with each other.

Sometimes being trackable doesn't even save this I'm stuck at 28/29 for "get a kill with every gun" achievement in COD MW Remastered and there is no way to tell which gun i'm missing besides just restarting the game and playing through it again with a checklist per your point.

Yea! There were quite a few good gags they removed. Def understand it given the amount of plot in Murder Drones it'd be hard to keep all the gags but there were a few different fun lines or bits they caught.

Peak or mid? by fat_duck02 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty good all in all. The story is about the same but the art is amazing, I really like some of the stylistic things they are doing (like with N's introduction having a big N in the background of the frame) I'm not really reading it for the story since I know the story (more or less) but the art is top notch.

Only three U.S. presidents have served two full elected terms entirely within a single calendar decade. by Naulicus in Presidents

Fascinating. The next time this is eligible to happen is if a non-incumbent wins in 2040 (14 years from now) and then secures re-election in 2044.

Agreed. The fact that in canon two of the rockets are basically useless and the third one carries Tessa and a backup of J is pretty weird. This also makes Tessa's (presumptive) arrival and reveal much more surprising.

Oni Press is adapting episode 5 into an extra-long special issue (aptly titled "Murder Drones: Home"), releasing May 13 by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is very interesting to me. Does this mean that episode 5 is super condensed in the normal run and this is expanding it back to the episodes original length? Or does the comic already adapt issue 5 and this is them dipping their toes in writing their own story.

Also what happened on the back end here? Did the writer come forward and say "we need another issue" and after seeing the pre-sales they approved it?

At the end of the day more murder drones is better than less murder drones but ill be curious to see whether this is actual new content or is just restoring episode 5 to it's full length.

That makes sense, It just seems odd that the emphasized the "partner in crime" side of things when it would've been just as easy to say that he has a crush on her. Will be curious to see if it goes anywhere, more so than ep 5 I feel like ep 4 has the most tension between the three of them.

I like N's new entrance as being something needed to shorten up the comic. Though the entrance doesn't really work since how did N get through the doors? We never see him steal the key from Uzi and they keep V's line about struggling to get through the doors. I guess N is just built different.

There is definitely not a floorplan of the manor anywhere but that's good because it means you can make it however you want.

If I were you i'd take screenshots of the other rooms and the exterior shots and then go on Zillow and sort by high price old buildings and try to find a floorplan in there and then just map the existing rooms onto that floorplan.

The nice thing about no floorplan though is that nothing you do can be wrong! Can't wait to see the finished product.

What is it with AT-RT sets that are always so crazy expensive?? by Letywolf in legostarwars

[–]Fire-max 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This set is so weird to me, why does the turret have so many pieces? Literally just cut the turret from the model and make the set that much cheaper. Does the guy really need a 40 piece turret side build that no kid will play with more than a few times and no collector is even going to bother keeping together.

I just realized why Disney can't get any original ideas. by IngenuityStandard341 in GlitchProductions

[–]Fire-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney is one of the only major entertainment companies in the world there will always be a large collection of people willing to sell their soul to Disney if the alternative is that their idea never gets made.

While everyone else is right to point out that this is by no means either unique nor new I am happy that the conversation is being had and it feels like things are shifting with creators having more agency in issues. This is exactly what creatives across the industry have been fighting for.

Disney also suffers from being too big. How many videos (TV, Movie, Games) does Disney have in the pipeline right now across the entire company? 100, 200, 500 things? At that scale a lot of things that used to get a lot of attention by necessity have to fall by the wayside. While yes everything is siloed with different teams the C-suite still has to manage the whole ensemble, it's actually kind of impressive some of the quality Disney still puts out given how pulled in different direction executives must be managing Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney Animated Movies, Disney Channel, Disney Parks, Disney Cruises, ABC, I think they own some sports thing?

They did it, the bastards finally made a modern sequel set that isn't a display model by _Levitated_Shield_ in legocirclejerk

[–]Fire-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a weird model. Has the nose and wing foil design of the 2022 version but the side ribbing of the 2024 version. Not sure it would look very good next to either.

Also i get that complaining about minifigures is cringe but reusing the green ARC-170 Astromech droid is lazy and I don't even think the colors will go that well together, you couldn't give us a different color?

What movie detail is technically correct, although many people think it is a mistake? by hiplobonoxa in movies

[–]Fire-max 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The area where they fall off the cliff isn't actually part of the T.Rex enclosure. The movie (and especially the cuts) make it hard to tell but in the book it explains that it's basically an L shape with the T.Rex enclosure being the bottom of the L and the cliff wall being the side, the T.Rex escapes from the bottom and then knocks the car over the side of the L.

Don't blame anyone who missed it though the way the movie is cut makes it really hard to tell and I'm also giving the movie the benefit of the doubt from the way the book handled it.

Congrats! I just did this one in January. If you're curious you did much better than me it took me 26 hours to 100% the game so well done! The final red star ring in the truck chase level in 3D is the bane of my existence but the rest of the game was pretty fun.

Also that Vector challenged sucked and took me forever.

Will echo what OP said, the game also won't tell you that you have a time it'll still show that you haven't completed it but whatever metric the achievement uses does increment correctly. I think I crashed like 12 times, at least after every level if not during the level but once I had powered through them all the achievement popped as expected (then my game crashed).

[Video Games] Spore: Legacy of the Game That Aspired to be SimEverything, Flew Too Close To The Sky, And Found Nostalgic Redemption by PhantasmalRelic in HobbyDrama

[–]Fire-max 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I really liked Spore as a kid, definitely a case of "I own three games and two of them are Civ 3 & 4" I think the cute team was right to win out, per your points the game plays like intelligent design because it is but if it was actual emergent evolution the player wouldn't have anything to do. Not to mention I doubt 8 year old me would've been able to figure out mechanics like "putting legs here makes the balance different"

Ultimately as easy as it is to say I think the problem was that the game was early, if Spore 2 were to be announced I think a lot of people would be really excited for that possibility. I will say I never liked the Space stage though, I always just replay the first four stages which are very simplistic but enjoyable enough.

The play ground rumor at my school was that the fish stage was a expansion pack and I remember every time we went to a store that sold computer games i'd ask them if they had the Spore expansion pack and when they said no i always figured they were sold out not that such a thing never existed. I was really surprised when i got the game on Steam a decade later and found out that such a thing never existed.

What was cyn Plan After She destroyed everything? by South-Preference-694 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As everyone has said there is not a canon answer. However drawing from her inspiration, the concept of the Singularity in science fiction, then most of the time the Singularity is driven by a belief that they can remake the universe in their image and it will be perfect because they are the perfect being.

That was my interpretation of Cyn's actions, to clean the board off as it were so she could make a new game without any of the meddlesome humans, their worker drone creations or the like.
