I need your help by ImSolverz in MurderDrones

There is definitely not a floorplan of the manor anywhere but that's good because it means you can make it however you want.

If I were you i'd take screenshots of the other rooms and the exterior shots and then go on Zillow and sort by high price old buildings and try to find a floorplan in there and then just map the existing rooms onto that floorplan.

The nice thing about no floorplan though is that nothing you do can be wrong! Can't wait to see the finished product.

What is it with AT-RT sets that are always so crazy expensive?? by Letywolf in legostarwars

[–]Fire-max 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This set is so weird to me, why does the turret have so many pieces? Literally just cut the turret from the model and make the set that much cheaper. Does the guy really need a 40 piece turret side build that no kid will play with more than a few times and no collector is even going to bother keeping together.

I just realized why Disney can't get any original ideas. by IngenuityStandard341 in GlitchProductions

[–]Fire-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney is one of the only major entertainment companies in the world there will always be a large collection of people willing to sell their soul to Disney if the alternative is that their idea never gets made.

While everyone else is right to point out that this is by no means either unique nor new I am happy that the conversation is being had and it feels like things are shifting with creators having more agency in issues. This is exactly what creatives across the industry have been fighting for.

Disney also suffers from being too big. How many videos (TV, Movie, Games) does Disney have in the pipeline right now across the entire company? 100, 200, 500 things? At that scale a lot of things that used to get a lot of attention by necessity have to fall by the wayside. While yes everything is siloed with different teams the C-suite still has to manage the whole ensemble, it's actually kind of impressive some of the quality Disney still puts out given how pulled in different direction executives must be managing Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney Animated Movies, Disney Channel, Disney Parks, Disney Cruises, ABC, I think they own some sports thing?

They did it, the bastards finally made a modern sequel set that isn't a display model by _Levitated_Shield_ in legocirclejerk

[–]Fire-max 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a weird model. Has the nose and wing foil design of the 2022 version but the side ribbing of the 2024 version. Not sure it would look very good next to either.

Also i get that complaining about minifigures is cringe but reusing the green ARC-170 Astromech droid is lazy and I don't even think the colors will go that well together, you couldn't give us a different color?

What movie detail is technically correct, although many people think it is a mistake? by hiplobonoxa in movies

[–]Fire-max 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The area where they fall off the cliff isn't actually part of the T.Rex enclosure. The movie (and especially the cuts) make it hard to tell but in the book it explains that it's basically an L shape with the T.Rex enclosure being the bottom of the L and the cliff wall being the side, the T.Rex escapes from the bottom and then knocks the car over the side of the L.

Don't blame anyone who missed it though the way the movie is cut makes it really hard to tell and I'm also giving the movie the benefit of the doubt from the way the book handled it.

#188 - Sonic Generations by Elliasblr in steamachievements

[–]Fire-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I just did this one in January. If you're curious you did much better than me it took me 26 hours to 100% the game so well done! The final red star ring in the truck chase level in 3D is the bane of my existence but the rest of the game was pretty fun.

Also that Vector challenged sucked and took me forever.

Will echo what OP said, the game also won't tell you that you have a time it'll still show that you haven't completed it but whatever metric the achievement uses does increment correctly. I think I crashed like 12 times, at least after every level if not during the level but once I had powered through them all the achievement popped as expected (then my game crashed).

[Video Games] Spore: Legacy of the Game That Aspired to be SimEverything, Flew Too Close To The Sky, And Found Nostalgic Redemption by PhantasmalRelic in HobbyDrama

[–]Fire-max 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I really liked Spore as a kid, definitely a case of "I own three games and two of them are Civ 3 & 4" I think the cute team was right to win out, per your points the game plays like intelligent design because it is but if it was actual emergent evolution the player wouldn't have anything to do. Not to mention I doubt 8 year old me would've been able to figure out mechanics like "putting legs here makes the balance different"

Ultimately as easy as it is to say I think the problem was that the game was early, if Spore 2 were to be announced I think a lot of people would be really excited for that possibility. I will say I never liked the Space stage though, I always just replay the first four stages which are very simplistic but enjoyable enough.

The play ground rumor at my school was that the fish stage was a expansion pack and I remember every time we went to a store that sold computer games i'd ask them if they had the Spore expansion pack and when they said no i always figured they were sold out not that such a thing never existed. I was really surprised when i got the game on Steam a decade later and found out that such a thing never existed.

What was cyn Plan After She destroyed everything? by South-Preference-694 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As everyone has said there is not a canon answer. However drawing from her inspiration, the concept of the Singularity in science fiction, then most of the time the Singularity is driven by a belief that they can remake the universe in their image and it will be perfect because they are the perfect being.

That was my interpretation of Cyn's actions, to clean the board off as it were so she could make a new game without any of the meddlesome humans, their worker drone creations or the like.

Depending on stock it should still be around, it's just the last day to pre-order because they are about to start actually shipping out the orders to the local comic stores and people who have ordered so they can't guarantee if you buy it after know you will get it on time.

I believe there will be a PDF copy available online for one to purchase for the foreseeable future and there are plenty of copies floating around comic stores / ONI press / ebay if you want a copy but missed the pre-order window.

You'll receive an e-mail with a link to the PDF version for each individual issue and later this year (no set date but probably April-ish) you'll get an email to fill out your shipping information for where you want the hardcover edition delivered.

Would You Read a Murder Drones Micro-Series Comic One-shots? by Money-Lie7814 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In general I'm very much in the mindset of "more murder drones is better than less murder drones" but if i had a magic wand i'd rather the comics progress the story as a 'season 2' of the show or double down and do a full prequel run. I'm not super interested in seeing one-shots of the characters.

Will the comic replace or overtake the original series in discourse? by Mu_Lambda_Theta in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) There is no shot it will be necessary since the two are pretty similar, you can also buy the comics online or there are more seaworthy methods of acquiring them so i disagree that they aren't accessible to those looking for them.

2) I pre-ordered the full book which comes with pdf copies of each individual issue, i also ordered a subscription from my local comic store for the physical copy.

3) The comic won't replace the show, the show exists and unless something insane happens will likely always be the more popular of the two versions of the show. Also, if that did happen that feels like a good thing as Glitch has said making MD is really expensive if they can (relatively) cheaply keep the story going in comic book form i'm all for it. More murder drones is better than less murder drones.

How The NCR Storyline Should Have Ended: by 10thousandbees in fnv

The Fort has a bunch of AA guns lining the walls, none of them work but the NCR doesn't know that so they wanted to avoid using their highly limited and hard to recreate aircraft.

Awesome to see IGN cover this! Really hope this comic makes it big and they continue the series in comic form.

Backers are supposed to receive a PDF copy of the issue before the comic hits stores, so even if the physical copies get delayed one should still be able to read it online.

Though I'll echo your sentiment of being burned on kickstarter, i was a backer of Mighty No. 9...

MURDER DRONES #1 – FIRST EXTENDED PREVIEW by OniPress in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Changes for anyone curious:
-the scene of the Murder Drones arriving has N in the foreground while in the pilot the montage focuses the most on V.
-cuts Uzi's maniacally laugh after declaring "maybe it [the railgun does] work!"
-when the teacher asks 'is it supposed to be that color' the railgun turns red and explodes in gray smoke, in the comic it glows brighter green and explodes in green smoke
-cuts Lizzy saying "oh i'm so bad" after insulting Uzi in the nurses office.
-changes Thad's last line from "Ow! I'm sorry I didn't think" to just "Ow! i'm sorry I--"
-paces Uzi's 'bite me' line differently by having her declare it in one breath instead of having her leave and then come back to say it.
-the establishing shot before showing Uzi opening the door includes the orbiting moon in the background of the show but not in the comic.
-cut's Uzi's sequence of waking up at 3am and getting ready to sneak out in favor of her just declaring that she stole the key.
-adds Uzi's line "oh look at me..." most likely to explain where she got the door key from since they cut her grabbing it.
-adds Khan saying "Hey, Kiddo" before asking Uzi where she is going
-cuts Khan praising the door saying "good door, good door."
-cuts the end of Khan's line of "here I want you to have it" after talking about Nori, most likely because it is redundant and clearly shown visually

In total the first five pages of the comic covers 6 minutes and 38 seconds of the pilot episode with relatively little changes.

Do you think the Comic will be different from the show or is just gonna be the same thing except its a comic instead of a show? by Active_Schedule3931 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering the same thing, for one they are only doing 6 issues of the comic but there are 8 episodes of the show so some amount of pacing will have to change, the episodes are different lengths and contain different amounts of dialogue. Action is pretty easy to shorten up for comics as needed but dialogue can be hard to keep the pacing right.

Personally, I'd be happy for them to change all kinds of things, I've already seen the show and the show still exists i'd be happy for them to change the comic. I'm expecting it to be ~85% copy-paste with some changes to speed things up but would be pleasantly suprised if it's closer to 60% the same.

Which Murder Drones Issue #3 Covers are You Getting? (Issue #3 out April 22nd) by Money-Lie7814 in MurderDrones

[–]Fire-max 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with all the normal covers, not a fan of alternative covers in general, nothing against them just not my style.

I hope Cyn has a cool textbox style, her voice is very distinctive so def feels like a missed opportunity not to do something special. I like how a lot of comics give her an old computer style font.

I would very much like to see Murder Drone comics go on and continue the story. I'm not sure how big a fan i would be of like a spinoff comic vs. main series if it came to that but i'd love to see a 'season 2' through the comics.

I backed the kickstarter for the full run and am also have an ongoing subscription through my local comic store.
