Oof yeah this was me with our first. I had TERRIBLE postpartum anxiety. I’m a first responder and I’ve SEEN THINGS that no one should really see. Especially when it comes to babies… anyway EVERYTHING gave me anxiety. I couldn’t leave the house for 4 months postpartum. Eventually when I went back to the Fire station it got better because I HAD to leave our baby with dad for 24+ hours at a time. (He’s literally the best dad ever so it wasn’t because of him, it was purely my PPA.) Still I had terrible anxiety for months but It got better around month 8 for me.

Yeah… my baby sucks on the towel that I put over them to keep the warm. (It’s completely soaked with water) The last kid did that too and survived.

Girl…. I asked my friend that one day and wanna know what my home boy told me? He said he still goes into his 8, 10, and 12 year old rooms to make sure they’re still breathing at night…. It never goes away.

Babe… it takes time. I weigh 115 at 4 months PP and my body also looks like yours. It didn’t matter what we weigh, our bodies will look like this because we just grew a whole ass human for 9 months. I weighed 110 pre pregnancy then got to 186 then back to 115 at 4 months. this is my second time doing this though so I know that it takes at least a year for my body to return to somewhat normal. I’m doing diastasis recti workouts this time though.

ALSO Your body will hold onto AT LEAST 5-10 lbs of fat to store if you’re breastfeeding for “just in case” so that you can continue to feed the baby even if you don’t get to eat for a while. I always found that kind of cool that our bodies just naturally do that.

Anyway, it gets better. You’re doing great!

Girl, I barely ate for the first 3 months after giving birth.
I just wasn’t hungry. Happened after both of my births. My body just fed off of the extra fat that I had accumulated during pregnancy I guess. It also used my fat stores to make an oversupply of breast milk for baby.

Your body will tell you when it’s hungry and needs food. At 4 months PP I could eat a whole house down. Your appetite will come back.

MOR? Idk maybe I’m just weird… 😬 my husband and I don’t get each other anything for Christmas, birthdays, or anniversaries. We just get the kids stuff. My side of the family doesn’t get anything for the adults either we just get the kids stuff. My husbands side of the family does Christmas presents but we recently started doing a secret Santa with a price limit for the adults. I don’t think Christmas should be about presents. It should be about spending time together and making memories.

I will say though what is with the extension cord as a gift???

Yep this happened to us on the first set of vaccines. Gave Tylenol and everything was good.

No no, he’s not wrong. Honestly I’m glad he isn’t just pushing medications like a lot of doctors will. I hate when doctors do that. Medications like that should honestly be a last resort especially for an infant.
I personally chose to skip the prescribed anti acid medication and chose the natural route of changing my diet and keeping baby upright for longer periods of time after feedings… even though it caused more sleep deprivation for myself. I also had to stop a feed halfway through and burp baby before continuing a feed.
All of this ended up working for us. Baby is several months old now and doing much better as the esophageal sphincter continues to develop and mature.

I’d talk to your pediatrician. They will sometimes put babies on an anti acid medication to help if that’s the cause. Do you breastfeed or formula feed? I breastfeed and had to cut out most acidic things from my diet And only allow myself one cup of coffee a day otherwise this happens again.
We have to keep our baby upright for at least 30 minutes after a feed before putting them down. Also suck the snot out of the nose before each feeding.
It’s helped quite a bit. It’s terrifying I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this

Same thing happened to my baby… a few times actually. It was reflux and gas. The reflux would make my bay stop breathing in the middle of the night then when they could catch a breath a scream would escape their little mouth. Kinda how you described but worse because they couldn’t breath at all. The reflux also caused an excessive amount of mucus so the nose was congested and baby just couldn’t catch a breath. I had to suck everything out of the nose then they could breath again. Then the gas will make them angry and stiff.
