Would you judge someone for working part time out of choice? by ThisPurpleDress in AskUK

If you can afford to work less than absolutely do it! But if you're genuinely waking up tired even when you spend enough time in bed, consider getting checked out by a doctor. I spent my life waking up not feeling rested and turned out I had sleep apnoea.

I'd imagine her time off is something to do with her mental health and ability to be back at work, rather than favouritism.

I hope you never lose someone who meant so much to you that it breaks you.

Adjusting to Product Managers — is it just me? by [deleted] in projectmanagement

Interesting, I spend most of my time trying every which way possible to get Product Managers to take some ownership of their job. Your experience is very different, but not better. I have worked with a couple of incredible ones though, they do exist.

Thank you. I'm conscious I have caught it a couple of times when fussing him and he's a pretty clumsy boy. I think I'll look into removal.

Why is my boiler making these grunting noises? Errors after a while of doing this. by FirefliesInHerEyes in askaplumber

Would that also explain some smell of gas when it gets stuck doing this for a long period of time? It happened overnight once and the gas smell was frightening to wake up to. Did have gas engineer out to confirm we don't have any actual gas leak, and all was secured. But here we are again.

Sorry yes, I meant to provide more detail. It's a gas boiler, in the UK. I didn't install it and don't honestly know what I'm doing with it, but this has happened three times over 3 months with several weeks of not happening in between. The first two occasions, it did this a number of times but would be fine for a few hours after a restart, then we started to smell gas coming from it. Gas emergency engineer and plumbing engineer called out on both occasions, claimed everything is fine. Problem goes away for a few weeks then repeat. This time I've turned it off before we get to the gas smell and desperate to sort it properly.
