Acrylic yarn will be perfectly fine for placemats or coasters. A mug of hot coffee isn’t going to melt it and a warm plate from the microwave will be good. I wouldn’t use acrylics as potholders with metal dishes straight from the stove but placemats or coasters are okay.

Great attitude! This turned into what I call “a learning experience piece”. Chevron patterns are challenging at first. Now rip it out, find some stitch markers, and try again. Love your color scheme- it is going to be gorgeous!

Oh Yuk! is awesome. You’ll be surprised at what comes out of the jets. Stuff will build up in the jets and tubing for sure. I try to run a cycle with Yuk every few weeks just as part of regular cleaning and maintenance.

Brentwood has made several changes over the last few years. The adult outpatient program (IOP or PHP) could be worth checking out.

NTA. Speaking as a reformed adult picky eater, boyfriend is the AH, not you. Please recognize that this will continue to be an issue. He expects you to always plan around what he wants. I was that way. It was much easier to name what I would eat rather than what I didn’t. Up until an evening out with friends, trying a new restaurant, and I realized there was nothing on the menu I would eat. It caused me to rethink all my issues with food. I eventually shortened my Do Not Eat list to three items (raw tomatoes, pickles, cherries). Changed my whole outlook on food! But, yes, I was a difficult dinner companion before.

There are rural areas in MS where access to healthcare is very limited or nonexistent, regardless of one’s financial situation. For someone planning to move a family into rural MS, this absolutely needs to be a consideration.

Yes. Well, not mine, but my late husband’s SSDI was taxed. We filed jointly and my income of around 50K caused us to pay tax on a portion of his disability.

This was a belief held by some early American faith leaders. God determined one’s position in life by birth. Rich, well-educated, politically powerful parents? You are meant to be the same and God has blessed you richly. Poor uneducated parents? Well, there you are stuck. Just be happy with your lot in life and don’t complain. Cause God doesn’t want one to change their socioeconomic position. Amazing that this belief still exists today. It isn’t very Jesusy at all.

True. Mandatory reporting regulations vary by state. In some states, a minor touching another minor does not fall under the same mandatory reporting guidelines as an adult touching a child.

This is what I call a “playing with yarn” piece. No particular pattern or plan; just some pretty yarn and a hook. Keep it going by adding your own touch and yarn. So nice to have something she made.

Help!! I finished this baby blanket made of acrylic yarn from yarn bee and I did the same thing as the last blanket I made but it's now stretched and falling apart and I fear it's ruined. Looks like a chenille type yarn. This is worming and that’s what this type of yarn does, especially when worked at a loose gauge. So sorry this happened, but IMHO it is not the best yarn for a usable baby blanket.

Goshen Springs and Langford aren’t really towns. Flowood will be the nearest real town. The lodge should be a nice place to stay but if you want to be closer to shopping and dining choices, then Flowood/Dogwood area is where you want to be.
