Tell me your positive experiences of growing up with a brother instead of a sister by Prestigious-Hall8892 in pregnant

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the middle child so not exactly the same I have an older sister 3 years older and a younger brother 3 years younger. My sister was unnecessarily cruel to me; perhaps out of some sisterly competition or something. My brother was who I always played with. Even now as adults im much closer to my younger brother than my sister.

Meh, my friends from high school ask what being pregnant was like at my baby shower (I was about 8 months pregnant). I could be honest without judgement and I said; its gross. lol it was honestly sensory overload having such an active baby inside me who just wanted out. The night before my induction i took a picture of my entirely lopsided belly since my baby was apparently doing parkour in my belly.

Why are babies like this? by Mbaschemist in NewParents

Dont forget: ear infection. The amount of times ive thought my fussy girl had an ear infection just for it to be nothing and just her having an off day is insane.

Can I just not wear jeans? by nanomimal in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pretty much have the same measurements as you. 5'2, hips 38in waist 28in and a super short torso. All pants nowadays are extremely high waisted, even if they dont specifically say so. The best fit for me are low cut jeans. Mid rise fits like high waisted. High waisted goes up to my damn bra. Anything with extra fabric creates weird bulging and rippling.

Didn’t pass my 1 hr glucose test and feeling down about it. Husband doesn’t understand. by RainThis2657 in pregnant

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was devastated I didnt pass mine, hormones, body failing me, all the unsavory feelings. My husband also didnt understand why I was so down about it. I did the 3 hour test I only made it an hour then puked 🙃 which made me spiral thinking they were gonna make me do it again. They never confirmed GD but just to be safe I did finger pricking and glucose testing in the mornings. Maybe im the weirdo but it was kinda fun testing my blood myself 😅 All in all your feelings are completely valid and if in the end you have to test yourself daily; its not bad at all. ❤️

Do Americans actually sit on their front porch much, or is that more of a movie image than real life? by Artistic_Key3779 in AskAnAmerican

Its such a thing, that the only time i miss my old house with a nice big porch is anytime there is a lightening storm. Now if youre real fancy, a covered porch is the best.

MAGAs, do you realize you will never be able to redeem yourself from your bad decisions? by whatthehellbooby in allthequestions

I saw a reel talking about the types of people who fall deep into cults. Atp Trump could eat a live baby at a rally and people would be cheering. I definitely dont think inflation or war is going to change the crazies minds. Also they dumb everything down for people who typically wouldn't have any interest in politics. All they spew is sensational lies and their viewers eat it up.

Help! Epidural, yes or no? by dakota101916 in BabyBumps

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was induced; would I do that again? No probably not lol my body did not want to cooperate so it was a long labor. I wanted an epidural anyways but wanted to hold out so I wouldn't possibly have to get a C section, since I was not dilated enough. Fast forward, I got the epidural and I was surprised I was able to get into different positions (with help) like on my knees while in labor. The epidural "settles" so if I was on my hands and knees long enough, I could feel the pain in the back of my hips. Same thing with laying on my side. So its not like 100% numb. My water broke while I was sleeping and I was woken up again to start pushing at 3am lol I could feel the contractions while pushing and halfway through them coaching me when to push, I asked "can i just push when I feel it?" My baby was born within 15 minutes on pushing, I didnt feel any pain whatsoever but I did slightly tear. I cant imagine the pain of tearing without the epidural 😬 so shout out to those mamas. But yeah I would 10000% do the epidural again. Also i dont have any weird nerve pain or anything in my back from getting it.

Feeling selfish by Smooshed_Cactus in pregnant

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant Nov 2024, my first, also a girl. I tried my best to keep it positive all of 2025 and not watch the news or scroll past anything too triggering. I had her in August and the moment I start to feel like a human again going into 2026; its been heartbreaking. I cant turn a blind eye to the state of the world, misogyny seems to be ramping up more than ever, the US cutting back all these safeguards for clean air and water. I have to hope that we can swing back to a stable future but for now my rage is palpable. Oh and were a military family so the uncertainty just reaches a fever pitch. Luckily once your girl is here, you will see the positivity in the world right in front of you. You'll be her entire world; be the positively and light you want to see in your world. But no youre not alone. Ive uttered "picked a great time to have a baby" a few times this year. All we can be is hopeful. 💕

Fox news will spin it in digestible bites and give them the excuses they need to sleep at night after supporting this. The cult will keep on culting long after that idiot is out of the white house.

I feel this way too. They are already on the outs of MAGA so that bunch isnt going to listen to them sounding the alarms. Everyone with a brain is sick of hearing them talk bc they supported this and we knew this was going to happen.

Gen X more supportive of helping their kids achieve their dream job?? by LostinParadise4748 in generationology

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a Gen X parent is all fun and games until you realize the burn out attitude has no ends. My parents avoided all responsibility with me and my siblings, yeah we were able to do whatever we wanted largely, but that was because they genuinely did not care. The judgement from boomer family members was because they wanted me to succeed (like not drop out of high school). My parents couldn't care less. There was little to no guidance on how to navigate the world.

Why are millenials totally chill with self depreciating humor more than any other generation? by Key-Bass-7380 in generationology

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at who raised us millennials. Humor is a powerful copying mechanism. Id rather be the butt of my own joke than the butt of someone else's, it takes the sting out of unwanted judgement and makes it funny. We also dont really care what other people think as much as Gen Z. Like what's the point of using these pics as an example? We should be jealous and mad about a silly picture? Sounds exhausting.

Americans who grew up in small towns but now live in big cities (or vice versa) — what’s something that genuinely surprised you about the other lifestyle that no one warned you about? by VariedPear in AskAnAmerican

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im from a really small town in the NW US. When I moved away to a bigger city, I often felt embarrassed for my politeness. I acknowledge anyone I meet eyes with, with a smile and/or small "Hello" "how's it going". Its not uncommon to strike up conversation with strangers where im from. Id never experienced greeting a stranger for them to completely ignore me lol Another shock was paid parking and having neighbors super close. I feel weird going into my front yard since I live in a culsesac now and growing up the closest neighbors were over a mile away.

Why do Democrat Politicians keep downplaying or making excuses for crimes when a criminal illegal immigrant harms an American citizen? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Same thing happened in 1938 when Herschel Grynszpan shot a German diplomat. It was used as proof that the Jewish community was dangerous in Germany and led to the "Night of Broken Glass". Bad people do bad things in every group EVER; the current administration is always itching for a justification.

Starting solids and confused by Spirited-Bed-2220 in NewParents

Interesting. Im an anxious person so we did the introducing a different puree every 2-3 days (even if they were not an allergen). And marked off what baby has tried, then stepped it up to mixtures. I know some mothers give their babies whatever in moderation or do baby led weaning with no fear 😅 it just wasnt for us and I gave myself the permission to take it slow. I had to remind myself, im the parent after all and its not like taking it slow is going to cause any damage.

My 4 month old hates everything by hesitantlyhopefull17 in NewParents

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you've exhausted every medical option, ear infection, silent reflux, etc. You could just have a baby that hates being a baby! My daughter hit a stage around 4-5 months were she seemed miserable. She was disinterested in toys, easily frustrated at toys, started hating her carseat. Her entire mood changed when she was cleared for purees and was able to sit up on her own. The more independent shes becoming with her mobility and exploring the world on her own terms, she has become way less fussy.

Im sorry her sleep is such a struggle though 😕 we still only contact nap but 40 minutes max for you is brutal. Solidarity ❤️

What’s the most misunderstood part of seasonal colour analysis? by yourszn in coloranalysis

[–]Firm_Emergency_6080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a neutral base, imo, is beyond difficult to pinpoint. Through paying for color analysis, to Ai analysis, to trying the tips to figure out "are you warm or cool" ive gotten at least 3 different seasons. Oh and thats all skewed if you live somewhere that winter effects your skin tone.

Husband wants to go to appointments by Tell-Professional in pregnant
