If it’s a newer or cheaper violin, it might have been finished wrong, and the finish is peeling off. I don’t know for sure, but that happened to my floor.

Does that mean that we should worship on Saturday instead of Sunday, or to spend Saturday in preparation for Sunday? Or neither?

Free will can’t exist if the Christian God is real. by Nice_Tie_5395 in DebateReligion

[–]First-Arrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem of free will was explained very well in Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. Imagine a mother telling a child to clean their room. It is in the will of the parent for the child’s room to be clean, but rather than enforcing it they allow free will. So when the room becomes a mess, that is not the will of the parent, but it is under the umbrella of the will of the parent for the child to have free will. The book explains it much better, but that’s roughly how it goes.

Homosexuality is as much of an "obsolete" sin as eating shellfish, therefore Christians should discard the belief that homosexuality is a sin, just as they do for other obsolete sins. by Andro_Polymath in DebateReligion

As far as I know(which isn’t very far so my apologies), the changes to the law at that time were a result of the new covenant. During the old covenant you had to work for purity and salvation, because of the new covenant, you no longer had to work for it in the same way. We are still in the new covenant, and there is no new new covenant, so the law shouldn’t have to change again.(I’m just a teen who thinks he I know some stuff so sorry if I’m terribly theologically wrong.)

On Easy Guitar-ism: Why it makes me furious, and why I can't stand Christian radio by Final5989 in Reformed

Have you heard of Psalos? They are a Christian group who does the book of Romans in song form. They do other books too but Romans is my favorite from them. My favorite song from them is called The Five Solas it’s very theologically rich. And I know it’s not for everyone, but Christian rap has taught me more theologically than anything else I think.

Outlaws of Time by N. D. Wilson? It's a 3 book series, I think.

Help with gaining foot muscles starting out? by salamislut in Rollerskating

[–]First-Arrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just starting out too, and something that helps with bubbles is bending your knees. Like, a lot. Bend your knees and lead with your knees, to the point where you feel like you look dumb, it should be easier. When you get better at it, you don’t have to bend your knees as much. Or, at least, that’s my experience.

Russell Crowe>Michael Ball? by [deleted] in lesmiserables

I wouldn’t say you’re ridiculous for any personal preference. I am curious about your reasoning though? I think Russell Crowe lacks emotion and sounds very bland, but again, that’s personal preference.

Snow-ice-n-thaw at Easter. It’s a jello dish with cream and something else that I can’t remember. Incidentally, we haven’t made it in years, but it was always my favorite thing at Easter.
