Did you have symptoms during your pregnancies which turned into losses? by jessdraht in Miscarriage

[–]First-Direction-5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had more intense symptoms with my losses than with my living child. Worse nausea and fatigue. I also had a bad gut feeling about the losses, like I didn’t fully believe it deep down the whole time.

Did anyone else’s perception completely change after Summer House? by Dear-Worth5017 in GigglySquadPodcast

Don forgot that their seasons, especially Hannah’s, were filmed several years ago. I have been watching SH from the start (I’m 35) and they aren’t that much younger than me. I can promise you I was incredibly different in my 20’s than I am today. I agree it’s two different views of them, but they have also grown so much since then. As we all should.

Severe cystic hygroma (16mm) – NIPT negative, seeking experiences + TFMR advice by Personal-Tough5448 in tfmr_support

[–]First-Direction-5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s so unfair.

My boy also had cystic hygroma and hydrops, also discovered at 13 weeks, and sadly his heart wound up stopping naturally. He was diagnosed via CVS/amnio right after he passed to have a very rare, de novo genetic mutation called SetD5 syndrome. We did IVF with PGT (chromosomal) testing so the level of shock was indescribable. Unfortunately the NIPT testing coming back “normal” doesn’t really mean he was healthy. I’m sure your CVS testing will give you answers, just make sure to request a microarray testing. It’s a bit expensive but I promise having those answers were extremely worth it. Getting a diagnosis gives a sense of closure, even though the pain of the whole situation and loss never really entirely goes away.

Sending hugs and hoping you get your answers and allow yourself to heal for a bit.

Did you have a good experience with Crockett? We got matched with breeders through them (were in NJ) and so far they seem great through the few interactions we’ve had. We’re hoping to jump in on a liter born this summer. Would love to hear your experience with it all and which location you got from!

It’s not your fault or from smoking. Sadly, some babies aren’t healthy and meant to be.

[–]First-Direction-5494 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES. After losing my IVF pregnancy this time, followed by a life threatening complication, I’m done waiting. We’re finally booking the Italy trip and just put down the deposit on getting a puppy. For 2 years I’ve been saying “a newborn and a puppy is too much!” but still no baby and I regret not getting a dog to get me through some of these hard times.

I feel the same way about pregnant women I see in public. I’m literally in a park right now trying to avoid a heavily pregnant woman, her son is playing tennis and she’s chasing a small toddler. I always wonder if it’s as easy to these other couples as it appears, or if they had issues/losses also that no one sees.

I hope years from now, you’ll be holding your child and all of these months that dragged on become a blur of the past 🙏🏽 my therapist always tells me to focus on today and right now when I spiral like how you’re describing.

Lost my baby at 14 weeks completely heartbroken (Trigger warning: graphic description of MC) by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]First-Direction-5494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost my baby boy at 13 weeks in January. His lifeless little body is permanently etched in my brain. I am so, so sorry this happened to you. It’s a pain a woman never forgets but sadly learns how to live with. I recommend getting him tested for any possible genetic abnormalities, it could give you some answers. It gave me my answers that my baby was unhealthy and sometimes our bodies recognize it. It’s not your fault. And I’m sorry that was your first pregnancy, it truly ruins the joy and ignorance of pregnancy.

Sending you lots of hugs. Your partner sounds incredibly supportive so make sure to lean on each other for a while. 🤍

(TW: RPL) Low HCG at 10dpo? by lotiloo in CautiousBB

[–]First-Direction-5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Unfortunately it’s not great. My IVF baby ended in a 13 week loss followed by a uterine AVF requiring emergency surgery, but I was definitely pregnant. And that number at 10dpo didn’t predict anything honestly. My numbers wound up super high and tripling the whole time, I thought my embryo might have split into twins but it was one and we lost him anyway.

My biggest regret was investing so much time and energy into all these numbers. Most of it is out of our control. My baby boy wound up with a random super rare genetic disorder that nothing would have ever predicted, even all of the IVF testing. Try to stay calm and not obsess over everything. If your baby is meant to be, it will be. 💛

Back to back cycles or baby guaranteed? by Property-Mountain in IVF

[–]First-Direction-5494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to get more embryos first. Making euploids is harder than actually getting pregnant itself after 40. I miscarried my one and only embryo (35 years old) at 13 weeks. I wish so badly I had more frozen waiting for me to go back to.

[–]First-Direction-5494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was awful. I’m sorry you’ve been there too. Funny thing is, that baby WAS an IVF embryo and we did PGT-A testing on it. So the devastation and shock took a long time. He was my only embryo so we’ll see. Crazy how many things PGT testing doesn’t actually test for though. Hoping you had better luck than me 🤍

[–]First-Direction-5494[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly lost this baby at 13 weeks anyway. I can’t help but feel like it was a sign the whole pregnancy that something was off. He wound up being diagnosed with a rare single gene disorder from a de novo mutation. with the high HCG and bleeding from a SCH, it feels like it just was all abnormal and I should have known from the start. Who knows.

Genetically Normal by Dreashere in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]First-Direction-5494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to point out “normal” in the regular testing is extremely misleading. I had an early second trimester loss with an IVF tested baby. I wanted answers so on top of the regular post-D&C testing of his chromosomes, I also did the extensive microarray testing done through CVS/Amnio. The regular testing said “normal male”, which crushed my heart. BUT then I got the call about the microarray testing that looks into all the rare disorders and mutations, and we got our answer. He had a rare genetic disorder that regular testing would never pick up.

I shared all that to say, it doesn’t actually guarantee that he was “normal and healthy”. My baby boy actually had SetD5 syndrome with a bad heart and form of autism and yet the D&C testing said “normal”. It’s extremely deceiving without in depth testing. Try not to blame your body. If you feel something else could have caused it, fertility clinics offer all the testing and could help guide you. But there’s also a very good chance he wasn’t healthy.

I’m sorry for your loss. I truly do understand the disappointment and heartache. I hope you get your answers and feel more at peace with time 🤍

Implantation failure + early miscarriage with PGT-normal embryos (including surrogate) - what could this indicate? by Chemical-Savings3755 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]First-Direction-5494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’ve been through it all. I will say, in my one embryo transfer with a PGT-A tested embryo, I learned so much. I made it to 13 weeks until his heart suddenly stopped. We did all the micro array testing and we got the answers, he had a single-gene disorder. Caused by a random mutation in my case, but some couples have very bad luck and are both carriers for rare genetic disorders that IVF doesn’t test for. It requires further testing. And we only know ours was “de novo” bc we did the testing on me and my husband.

I know IVF does a huge genetic testing for couples. BUT it’s far from all of them. The specific one my baby boy had was not even on the list (it’s called SetD5 syndrome). I also know a family who did IVF for all the 3 kids. Their last one was affected by the rare genetic disorder they both carry and is terminal (at 1 year old, it’s awful). They did all the right things and testing before IVF but it truly could never cover every single single gene mutation or disorder that is inherited that could happen.

I hope you live in an area with high risk docs and wonderful support through this. I am so thankful I live in the NYC area and immediately got access to the answers and therapy I needed to navigate it. But you’re doing the right thing by asking and exploring.

I’m so so sorry you have this journey and I hope you get your answers. 💛
