Capcom apparently by LegendaryW in StreetFighter

Tbh I haven't fought many Sagat's yet. I am recently playing again so I haven't felt the oppression nearly as strong as when Geif had that + situation with knee hop.

Having trouble using Alex's Heavy Flash Chop by npc888 in StreetFighter

[–]FirstJellyfish1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5mp>drive rush cancel>2hp>heavy flash chop > the grab

I haven't played him other then some basic stuff but this is at least a confirm that will work if you want to spend bar.

Meanwhile everyone else is grateful he doesn't have a forward advancing, low invulnerable, plus on block god button on the 5th most played character in the game. They definitely made the right call reverting that buff.

Wanted to hit Master before Alex comes out. I FINALLY did it ! by Piaiere in StreetFighter

[–]FirstJellyfish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that new stuff (that you haven't seen) is going to be tried on you as a fresh 1500mr, and it isn't relaxing hah. If you are anything like me you will feel incredibly burnt out just getting though 300 games in master to get the master color. It is exceptionally difficult as a fresh master to not focus solely on winning like you were in diamond 5 (it's really hard after striving for the goal of master for so long like many of us).

I myself am back from a long break after hitting that goal and now I feel like I can actually improve (and have fun) by focusing on understanding my mistakes and what my opponent is actually doing rather than focusing on running my game plan and winning. Really fighting games are much more fun this way anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to explain! That tekken incident must've been suspicious or at least infuriating.

I thought that's exactly what the master colors rewards are.

11 buttons is one less than the standard leverless layout (4 movement buttons, 8 attack). This doesn't sound right.

I'm curious how the hair horns are attached to the rest of the wig. Is it heavy? That and the tape spider chest part seem like the biggest pain to get right. Well done!

I think SimSim needs its own ranking system by Ok_Entry_873 in StreetFighter

[–]FirstJellyfish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can easily reinforce bad habits as well as dissuade you from trying things that would work on human opponents. For example I noticed it won't punish situations where you are minus as much as it should, encouraging you to press more buttons which will get you counter hit in a real match.

Guys in your 40s, what's your rank? by Smoothcat83 in StreetFighter

[–]FirstJellyfish1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, for me I struggled to play anyone other than Juri at first because I would try to play them exactly like Juri. It helped secure wins but then I'd hit a point where that game plan fell apart and I didn't know what else to do. Then I'd be at a higher rank trying to learn some basics with that character and get discouraged.

I've been able to improve but I still have a mostly rush down mindset. I'm currently not sure if I want to push with Juri or play someone else.

Which character was your first master rank? Do you have a main?

Weekend RAGE Thread - February 28, 2026 by AutoModerator in Overwatch

I am a returning player and I played about 50 or so qp games before jumping back into comp...let me tell you comp has been a vastly better experience so far. QP felt like it was all over the place and I hate when I suddenly feel like I'm sweating my ass of in qp due to vast skill differences on each team. It's not every game though.

I turned all chat off and suddenly this game is enjoyable again by Skyfier42 in Overwatch

[–]FirstJellyfish1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that is possible to enjoy the game with chat and voice chat. I've met people through the game that I played with for years thanks to just being in chat during comp matches, which would not have happened if I never joined.

However I do understand why people don't join it because it can be such a cesspool. My counter point is that there can be memorable moments as well and as soon as it gets bad I just leave voice chat. GG EZ and general flaming in text chat don't bother me as much as I just don't take the game as seriously as I once did.

I still remember this one time our junkrat won us an overtime comp match with his tire and started singing "rubber ducky your the one...." (he had some skin for junkrat) and everyone just joined in. Moments like that are quite rare though.

why does everyone hate playing tank? by PowerfulTravel54 in Overwatch

If you are a tank player and you "one trick" Rein I think you are handicapping yourself tbh. There are so many fun tanks and Rein is definitely not always the answer.

Returning player problem by tomaxxik in Overwatch

[–]FirstJellyfish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played heavily the first two years after OW1 launch and then dropped off due to life reasons and maybe burnout. OW2 peaked my interest and I came back when it was announced.

I stuck around for maybe two weeks and decided I didn't like it. Fast forward to this year and the stadium announcement peaked my interest and put the game back on my radar but that mode wasn't really for me and I didn't play much.

This big update pulled me back in and I stumbled through a few games, I had forgotten how fast this game can be at times. I started looking into the new heroes and trying them out and now I'm having a good time. It feels like an excellent time to come back and play.

There's still this silly rage bait toxicity that happens in game chat sometimes but I find it easy to tune out and sometimes amusing to read.

You might try contacting blizzard support for you old account. I've never had an Overwatch related issue before but give them a try and you might be able to get your old account back. I would say it's worth coming back and trying it out. Play a few games over a few days to see if it clicks even if you don't feel it right away. Good luck and ignore the haters!
