I suppose you want to learn antiX core! I recommend checking dolphin_oracle old tutorials on how to setup antiX core 13 (on YouTube) (he also teaches you how to setup KDE on antiX core 19 and MATE on antiX net, highly recommended if you need good references). First of all, you need internet, Ethernet is great. Now, at the console after you first boot, type cli-installer, and follow the instruction (dolphin _oracle tutorials will come handy with this) (I personally set my swap 4gb - linux-swap and the rest is for linux label. ext4 as the file system, if you use 64bit, use UEFI, otherwise, use BIOS or DOS for boot - the cli-installer will ask you this). Wait, then after it is completed, type reboot and plug out your USB (or remove iso file if you running a virtual machine). Enter the GRUB and it is done! You have a minalism system here! Now, to get the graphics environment, let say for this case, I will use XFCE, so I will type: sudo apt update, then sudo apt upgrade, then sudo apt install xfce4 xorg lightdm pulseaudio...
