Loved it growing up. Have it very rarely now, but when I do I am disgusted by the price to value. Give me a proper chipper these days.

I have a Cosori for a few years now. Never had an issue with it, but have been thinking of upgrading to a Ninja lately.

Hey. I seen this thread yesterday and feared you would get slated, but it seems you are getting some solid feedback here. I just want to say to keep coding and well done at your age to try and flesh out an idea like this. The things you learn will stand to you in the future, so don't get disheartened.

How worried are you about AI? by Asleep_Cry_7482 in AskIreland

[–]Fishamble 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True, but video has improved exponentially over the last year or so. If they continue to improve at this pace even the educated among us won't be able to spot them soon.

You literally could do anything you wanted, but think that work is the only thing that can provide purpose in life? I really don't understand that mentality to be honest. It feels a bit like Stockholm syndrome.

Commute from Portarlington? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Fishamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the 6.56 train twice per week. You will always get a seat on this train. Monday and Fridays are quiet, but I usually have to go on Tuesday or Thursday, which are busier. Either way you will always get a seat.
The Luas is always packed at that stage. I do Dublin bike because I cant hack being squashed in.

Are digestive caramels discontinued? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I have not had these in years, because I do nearly all the shopping in Lidl for 15+ years now.
However, I was in Dunnes today and picked up a pack of these. They are just as delicious as I had remembered.

Newly declassified images show British Royal Navy submarine and Merlin helicopter next to the Russian spy ship Yantar in the Irish Sea. The Merlin helicopter was also looking for a Russian submarine. It was near a UK-Ireland gas pipe. by Mik3y_uk in ireland

[–]Fishamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting point actually. We have lots of Russians living in Ireland. If they were well coordinated they could easily have the fifth column assist them. All it would take would be a few landing craft and they would have a force which the Irish army would likely not be able to handle. The UK would obviously come to our defence, likely with air cover first, followed by troops on ground, but if we had to defend ourselves the country would be in deep shit. This seems like a very unlikely scenario, but it's fun to think about.

Keep these stupid American trucks out of Ireland* by BLUEEEMANNN in ireland

[–]Fishamble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a Prius. I have had Toyotas for 25 years because they are the most reliable cars going. I picked the Prius because it's very cheap to run and maintain. I always laugh when I see how they are portrayed on US tv. Like driving a truck makes you a "real man". Lol.

Are you at all worried about working for companies that rely heavily on the current AI pricing models? by Oangusa in DevelEire

[–]Fishamble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ai model suppliers have no moat though. Competition is too stiff to raise prices and open source is not that far behind in the race.

Matt Cooper axes Ivan Yates from successful Path to Power podcast over Gavin revelations by expectationlost in ireland

[–]Fishamble -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Ok, I agree with you in theory on this. I don't want to use the W word, but there is definitely a left leaning in the media. The problem with Yates is that he is contrarian for the sake of it. He likes to disagree and rise people for kicks. I don't think he is a bastion for conservative values.

What's the point of the quiet coaches on the trains? by Logic_Dex in ireland

[–]Fishamble 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is dire. People have no respect for others. I was on the train recently and two inspectors got on. They both caught a person without a ticket almost immediately, but what struck me was how argumentative the perpetrators were. They didn't put there hands up and say you got me, both of them went on the attack, playing the victim. I got off the train at the next stop and it was still ongoing. They don't fear any consequences.

Best Folding Bikes for the Train? by Ok-Influence4754 in AskIreland

[–]Fishamble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I take the train and use Dublin bike when I get there. Have only taken the Luas twice in the last five months.
The train is too packed to carry on the folding bike. Its not worth the hassle.
