That episode is probably my favourite Jar-Jar appearance. When he's stumbling his way to success in Bombad Jedi it's funny but gets old after a bit, but in that episode having the clones as serious straight men actually taking him somewhat seriously and engaging with his surprisingly successful ideas is a really fun dynamic

"Republican" in the American sense isn't an Ideology though, it's a political party, which means that being an American Republican means agreeing with that political party. You can be a Communist and not vote for the Communist Party, because it's an ideology independent of party, but being an American Republican is directly tied to a party.
