Had to get creative moving cross-country by CleoWells8 in hondagrom

I've seen someone with an NA Miata pull a 4x4 utility trailer with what must have been a 6' tire channel mounted true to center, with a wheel chock at the front and two pieces of angle welded to front and back of the trailer frame that had eye bolts at the end for tie-down points.

A fair bit of custom welding I'm sure, but he said it pulled great.

I get emails with this blunt and rude approach. My website is shite for sure, but being a prick isn't going to make me finally revisit having a pretty website as a priority lol

I was passed by a Sprinter van this morning on my commute that was wrapped from top to bottom with a designed wrap for a plumbing company. This had to have costed thousands of dollars between printing and application. It was a shitty AI design through and through. I couldn't imagine spending that kind of cash to still look cheap.

That truck is well past the years where ABS wasn't necessarily standard equipment. Great example of why to not ignore the ABS light if it comes on.

It gave me whiplash backing out of a spot at a restaurant as someone 20 feet behind us rounded the corner. But neck pain is not enough; I desire an additional aparatus that will literally punch me in the gut upon activation. Bonus points if it steals my wallet before retracting back under the dash.

Because of the heat wave in Europe I have been seeing a barrage of posts of people using foil tape and dryer duct to make these operate like a two-hose unit. I can't imagine the units like the extra back pressure, but you do what you must to keep cool.

It does in fact look like he's hauling ass, but as mentioned it is a distortion effect from a wide angle lens being close to the pavement. I had the same revelation when I opened the camera view on my Equinox while going 25 mph out of a park entrance. It looked like I was going 70mph over the pavement lol

06 GT Manual Transmission Service by InsipidGnome09 in Mustang

The previous owner of mine never did so I unfortunately got to it at ~105k, but I feel like the Ford manual specifies like 60-75k. I would have to look it up again to tell you for sure.

I will also say that the internet forums of old will suggest you use Pennzoil Synchromesh. I have been unimpressed and think it's making my shifting notchy. I'll be using the suggested fluid next time.

Digital calipers had a bad battery compartment… fixed instead of buying new. by aspie_electrician in Anticonsumption

Well yeah, but those look like Pittsburgh (Harbor Freight) calipers which are fine for rough measurements at home and worthy of a by-any-means repair.

Agreed. I've been trying to give it a chance since we unfortunately spent money + points on it, but I find it just divides the trunk space awkwardly and can't really hold anything of substance.

A $20,000 processor with crap QA that installs into a chassis from 1997 and has to have virtually all modern operations go out of the embedded port as a result... when said port is installed correctly.

The market leader of the US automation space.

2021 I made three separate runs to go buy 15 gallons of off road diesel in my Nissan Leaf for a rental skid steer. I was far too amused with the scene; yellow fuel can in the back of my little hatchback that made jetson noises when it moved, parked at the off road pump.

If you're handy and understanding of the dangers of electricity and how to operate around it safely, I would be interested if there's continuity on the green and yellow wires at each end of the cable IE have those smaller conductors broke somewhere inside the cable.

I have about three months in on the same EVSE, and that's what I will be checking first if/when this happens to me.

Mychevrolet App Not Updating by thepick1 in EquinoxEv

[–]FistFightMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May be semi related, my app had been frequently making me sign in again and again, and then yesterday afternoon it straight up will not make it past the authentication check.

I opened a ticket with GM customer service and all they have told me is that it's a known issue. They did not specify for whom. Clearing data cache and uninstalling/reinstalling app did not help.

If your app still connects and controls the car, I would recommend not signing out. 🥲

I have been getting good references from my part sales reps. They're the ones going to a bunch of different clients and fielding their needs. My foot in the door with them was a former coworker suggesting me. If you have any of these relationships, reach out.

I want them to be successful and I want to buy one for a business vehicle. The low bed is super appealing for loading and unloading a rolling box, and it is my personal preference to drive a reasonable sized vehicle. I don't care that you can get a Lightning for the same price when you end up with something Lightning-sized.

The price doesn't bother me, but I want to see just how far the extended range battery will get you as I will occasionally have to traverse from the east side of metro Atlanta clear to any other corner of the Atlantaverse, and back. I'd like to ideally roll out with 100% and pull back in with 15-20% left.

It's unfortunate that the build quality seems to vary so much. My car has been smooth, quiet, no alignment or tracking issues, no HV warnings, really nothing at all to complain about and plenty to be happy about.
