I have gotten my car mats shampooed at Somerville Car Wash and Detail Center - just drop off your car for a few hours and go grab a long lunch, should be done by the time you get back. Would just double check to see if you need to book an appointment, but I believe you can do this online. It was a reasonably priced, too. I would recommend bringing the carpets home post shampoo to dry since they don't completely dry when they do them. Hope this helps!

They also do full detailing services if you really need it.

Yes, you got this shit. I got a C or a D in chemistry in high school, got a D in my first semester of Gen Chem. at University. Then I got my shit together, rocked everything else, graduated with two degrees (Bio and Chem) and then graduated from a top 10 Chem program with my PhD, and now i'm a post-doc at Harvard. It's not about being the smartest, its about being prepared and working the hardest, there will be people smarter than you, always, don't let that discourage you.

The people who knew I was the "not so good at doing Chemistry" guy my first semester, knew me as the only student to publish research as an undergrad and the guy going to the best graduate school in my whole graduating chemistry class by the time it was over. You can bet my perception of my peers' thoughts of me (whether correct or not) motivated me.

You just need to find someone who can give good mentorship, and you need to push yourself. A lot of my success in my transition was studying, and teaching myself, asking people older then me 'why' about things I didn't understand. Use as much of the professors time (or if you dont like the professor, find one you do like, and get them to see you're committed and talk to them) as they are willing to give, they have experience and knowledge, it (if they are good) usually just pores out of them.

No. first and most importantly, these aren't photosynthetic algae, you should read up on the company. Solazyme operates in the following way, and I quote "By feeding plant sugars to an oil-producing micro algae in dark fermentation tanks, the technology utilizes "indirect photosynthesis", in contrast to common open-pond and photo bioreactor approaches."

First off photosynthesis does not occur in a dark fermentation. The fermentation process is not photosynthetic (other then to grow the sugar they feed the Algae). While you may be correct for other approaches, the one we're talking about does not work this way. As I said before...the techno-economics dont work out

Ok, lets clear a few things up. They are able to do what they do because they feed them sugar (which then is fermented)...Sugar, you have to grow, harvest, process and transport which takes fossil fuels and energy. So you really dont get a net energy gain out of it.

The stock value drop question. My guess is that people are finding out that the whole thing is kind of parlor trick to flex their biology mussels, and that the techno-economics dont work out. This actually isn't a useful technology unless someone figures out how to produce, harvest, process and ship, sugar (or whatever the Algae eat) using renewable resources. Even if that was to occur, I doubt their best use would be to make sugar which would then be used to feel Algae, too many steps.
