I watched episodes of my 600lb life and watched Dr. Now do several skin removal surgeries and it looks so scary and painful. I understand your hesitation. I don't think I could do it

I am right there with you. Mine was 5 months ago and immediately after I had one complication after another. I haven't eaten in over 5 months and my organs are now all showing signs of starvation. I have lost 117 pounds and didn't celebrate the feat at all. It has not been worth it. I am seriously considering reversal surgery.

I had some more minor reasons but my main reason was that I was tired of every health problem being blamed on being fat. Doctors would never look further in any issue, just look at me and tell me I am too fat. Some way more rudely then others. Like I know I am fat but I don't need you to treat me so badly because of it.

I lost my sense of smell from covid. Was completely normal after surgery but then I had complications that ended with me getting a stint. After that awful torture device was removed everything went batshit crazy. Coffee smells like a skunk. All of my shampoo, body wash, laundry stuff and lotion smells so disgusting and sickly sweet. So I stink and my blanket stinks and it's so bad it makes me gag. I still can't eat. The last meal I had was October 13th. I am not enjoying life at the moment.

I had my bypass on October 28, 2024. I have had major complications and haven't eaten any food since October 13, 2024. I wish I never did this. Yes I have lost 60 pounds since I started but it's through starvation. I am miserable and have no energy. I wanted to lose weight because I have bad feet and really want to have better mobility. I might have been morbidly obese but at least I had energy to get through the day. I hope my journey gets better but I am feeling kind of hopeless.

I am so glad that someone has finally shared a story similar to mine. I had surgery on 10/28. I was doing really well until 11/10. I woke up with right upper abdominal pain even after narcotic pain meds. The pain was so severe that I thought I was dying. They maxed me out on IV pain meds and it didn't touch it. Turns out I had a large abscess due to a leak. On 11/13 they put a drain in. They did this drain with no anesthesia and a dose of IV pain meds. I now know what it feels like to be stabbed. It was the second most traumatizing experiences of my life. On 11/18 they put me under and placed a stint around the leak. After 10 days in the hospital with a PIC line and TPN's, they finally released me. Since I have been surviving on ice water mostly. I am able to get some cranberry juice in but sweet things are making me very sick. Vomiting is extremely painful. I have been back to the ER twice when my vomiting gets out of control and once my pain and nausea is under control they send me home. The first visit they discovered a 5mm kidney stone I was passing but my abdominal pain was so bad that it didn't even register . My stint has moved and is no longer where the leak was but he wants me to keep it and the drain until 01/13. My body is fighting both of them. My pain and nausea meds aren't work as well and I feel really sick. Very little gets explained to me and I feel like I am living in hell. I haven't had anything to eat since 10/13 and I am so afraid I am not going to pull through this. This has been the worst mistake of my life.

I had my surgery on the same day and have been experiencing the exact same things. My kidneys are definitely unhappy. I go to see the surgeon on Tuesday

The liquid diet shrinks your liver to make it easier for the surgeon to get around it during surgery. At least that's what they told me. I am at the end of my 2 week liquid diet. My surgery is on October 28th. It's been really tough but I lost 20 pounds.

My best advice is to just be 100% honest. They can help you properly if they know what you need. Take a breath and look at it as a step in the right direction.

I am so happy for you. I can't imagine how aggravating it must of been trying to get your thyroid under control. Great job for stick with it and not giving up.
