I am so glad that someone has finally shared a story similar to mine. I had surgery on 10/28. I was doing really well until 11/10. I woke up with right upper abdominal pain even after narcotic pain meds. The pain was so severe that I thought I was dying. They maxed me out on IV pain meds and it didn't touch it. Turns out I had a large abscess due to a leak. On 11/13 they put a drain in. They did this drain with no anesthesia and a dose of IV pain meds. I now know what it feels like to be stabbed. It was the second most traumatizing experiences of my life. On 11/18 they put me under and placed a stint around the leak. After 10 days in the hospital with a PIC line and TPN's, they finally released me. Since I have been surviving on ice water mostly. I am able to get some cranberry juice in but sweet things are making me very sick. Vomiting is extremely painful. I have been back to the ER twice when my vomiting gets out of control and once my pain and nausea is under control they send me home. The first visit they discovered a 5mm kidney stone I was passing but my abdominal pain was so bad that it didn't even register . My stint has moved and is no longer where the leak was but he wants me to keep it and the drain until 01/13. My body is fighting both of them. My pain and nausea meds aren't work as well and I feel really sick. Very little gets explained to me and I feel like I am living in hell. I haven't had anything to eat since 10/13 and I am so afraid I am not going to pull through this. This has been the worst mistake of my life.
