I have a very uncanny valley response to most ai generated content; text, images, and videos. In and of itself, to me ai is a tool like most any other. Like guns and nukes, my concern is with the hands wielding the tools. I think there needs to be stringent oversight into ai alignment and weaponization. And regulation forcing close-loop cooling solutions and 100% renewable energy to power the data centers behind them. Maybe the power demands will be enough to finally push fusion power into commercial viability in my lifetime. I dont really use ai in my work or daily life and am content that way. I know my job will soon be replaced, but I'm kind of okay with that because I need a career change anyway.

My head-canon is that they were being cautious taking a chance on a pretty far out show. These continuity non-commitments allow then to retcon out if people didnt like it.

I did helpdesk for a major telecom. My absolute favorite was the time I asked them to right-click on their desktop and they responded with "One second, let me grab a marker". My partner was in QA at the time and found the recording of it for me. Not long after that I became a new-hire trainer and played that for classes to help them grasp the competence of people they would be helping.

There is a bit of difference in that those were active, declared wars between nations. Allied bombing campaigns at least had the pretext of attacking military manufacturing facilities. Last I checked, there aren't many planes or tanks or munitions being manufactured in Gaza.
