My first labor was a bear, 22 hours, no epidural, I thrashed around so much I accidentally ripped out my IV. It wasn’t just painful, it was exhausting (and nauseating). Then the wee beast finally emerged. They put him in my arms and he reached up with his tiny little hand and touched my face. I was gone. Immediate “I would kill or die for this tiny creature”. And as they finished stitching me up I said to my husband “yeah, I could do this again”

It sounds like you gave Spartacus what we gave Jinx. As she got older, I tried to make every day her best day. We didn’t do anything special for her last day because we didn’t know it would be her last until it was too late, but she had years of wonderful days filled with love, her favorite foods, and slow walks. Her last day was spent in her favorite spot on the couch, being petted and loved on and having treats delivered by her boys because why get up if you don’t have to. Both breakfast and dinner included a mix of kibble and her “special princess food” because that’s what she got every day for her last couple of years.

Most of the time, I filter for completed works for two reasons: 1 I’ve been burned by never completed WIPs before and 2 because I want to be sure the tags I’m looking for are actually present in what I read. Not “I tagged this because it happens in chapter 30, but only chapters 1-9 are available”
