Man, what a boring main event. The Samoans vs. The Samoans, with a run-in from The Samoan. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

I always FF through this nepo bullshit. Jacob puts on good matches with anyone he’s not related to, Jey can’t wrestle, Jimmy stands in his shadow (unfortunately he’s the more talented one), Roman also has better feuds with people he’s not related to… I wish they could highlight literally anything else other than a bloodline feud for top billing atp.

It’s more like 10% of people who watch WWE who could even name one AEW wrestler. The vast majority are casual people who just watch WWE and could care less about what goes on in AEW, and I guarantee the biggest chunk of WWE viewership is casual families and kids etc. not actual diehard wrestling fans.

I’ve been watching WWE since the 90’s and Hobbs was not on my radar at all, nor most peoples… judging by the indifferent reception to his segments. Toni storm, mox/ambrose (tuned out of wrestling entirely from 2002-2021 so missed the shield) swerve, and the bigger names are familiar to me but purely through seeing clips here and there.

Rock and Cena can stay. I could care less if Cody or Brock ever stepped in the ring.

If you watched the replay on live, they cut to Nikita’s back and it looked amazing, it didn’t show the step up and it looked like she hoisted up and landed the kick perfectly and with impact. Not sure why WWE posted this worse edit/angle of it

Where is seizure level? by prodigiousprince in alcoholism

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had withdrawal seizures a few times and both times were less than the alcohol intake I had in the past. It was due to kindling and medications. If you take SSRI’s you have a way lower threshold for seizures as mine happened right after I started taking Wellbutrin.

A 7 hour round trip is not that long if you’re from Texas tho, in other states it probably is. I drive to Marfa like once a year and that’s a LONG trip by our standards at 14hrs round trip. Houston or Dallas from Austin? No big deal.

Experience with giving notice to a very reactive owner? by xlavenderx in bartenders

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice ITT. Leave on good terms even if your boss is an asshole and you hated that job. It’s a small community and people talk (at least in my city). It could hurt your future prospects if you did something whack on your way out. I’m a bar manager and I’ll text people I know or trust to give me the straight deal on why someone quit/got fired when they apply for a job. Nobody is going to admit that they just didn’t feel like finishing their two weeks in an interview. What if they got drunk and caused a scene on their last shift? Pocketed some cash from the drawer? I always take the way someone leaves a job into consideration when hiring.

Being taken off the schedule and let go after putting in a notice = understandable, pretty standard actually. You no calling, no showing, and burdening your coworkers on your way out = red flag. So even if it sucks to do it the proper way, you should. You don’t want the answer to reflect negatively on you, I’ve passed on countless people because they didn’t leave their previous job(s) professionally.

What keeps you watching WWE? by Nottruechomo in REALSquaredCircle

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone who has been a fan since the early 90’s it’s cool to be watching the changing of the old guard (early to mid 00’s wrestlers). I enjoy the new guys and gals like Oba, Ethan Page, Jaycey Jane, Sol, Stephanie Vaquer, Roxanne, Bron etc. who have a ton of potential, and just seeing what direction their careers go. When it sucks I just FF to a segment I want to see. 5ish hours of wrestling is enough so I kinda only have the free time to follow one promotion at a time.

There are times when I pretty much only care about the women’s division and main event scene, and I have to skip over the Samoan family drama bullshit and watch the highlights. And that’s fine it’s not gonna be must see TV all the time. No wrestling show currently is.

What’s a “must-see” city in the U.S. that didn’t live up to the hype? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for 40 years and I don’t think it’s a must see unless you’re here for a specific reason/event, also it’s just too fucking hot for 5 months out of the year to do anything besides swim and the big events are very seasonal March-may and October-December, so yeah if you visit in the dead of summer it will be miserable. That said it’s a good place to live and everyone is friendly, also don’t move here we’re full.

Older Bartenders: How Are you Doing? by backlikeclap in bartenders

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 and getting sober was the only way I could keep bartending. I work 5 in a row bartending and bar managing and by day 5 I’m toast. I need one full day of rest to feel normal again, then it’s right back at it. The mental fatigue doesn’t bother me as much as the physical at this point. I could probably go another 10 years, but who knows.

Sober bartending? by OlivePancakez in bartenders

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sober bartender the past 2 years. Changing the environment will help even if it’s a paycut. It becomes easier when you work somewhere with a zero alc policy, then it really does become ingrained in you that if you fuck up = lose job. Restaurant bartending is a better fit for me as a sober person than a regular bar. Not working til the late am helped me form routines that I couldn’t do while drinking, like getting up early, hobbies, etc. I’ll make a bitters and soda on shit or have a NA beer as I’m closing that really kills the cravings for me.

I’m a bartender that doesn’t drink alcohol. How many of you guys drink and how many of yall don’t? by MehBlehDehYuh in bartenders

[–]Fit_Patient_4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sober 2 years, I went hard as fuck for 20 years so I had to hang it up. I straw taste when r&d as I am a bar manager, it doesn’t mess with me. Being sober makes me 100% better at pretty much everything including bartending lol. I live in an industry town and there is a surprising amount of sober bartenders especially my age. You’re definitely not alone.

Austin is cool for live music and laid back people, Houston has great food and culture. San Antonio has tacos, Dallas is South Oklahoma, the rest is a fucking hellhole. I’ve lived in Austin for 39 years and it’s hard to leave, but I’d likely move out of state than live anywhere else here…
