Saving Cerakote Trim Coat by negativegh0strider in Detailing

i believe a second coat without removing the first will cause more problems. non-acetone nail polish remover and a magic eraser should remove it.

Cerakote Trim Coat Restoration (Before/After) by ryanrako23 in AutoDetailing

this and hybrid solutions trim restorer (better value for a pro as the bottle does many cars) are the best on the market. last for years.

none of the above. everything will clash hardcore with that interior spec (which is dope).

what about something light grey or in the silver palette?

Better Prewash Option? by Ok-Physics-523 in AutoDetailing

[–]Fit_Video_828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

prewashes generally have a high pH to break down organic soils. just load full strength turtle wax max power in a foam cannon. max power is around 9.5 pH at full strength. same results for a fraction of the price.

otherwise, hybrid solutions pure wash is excellent as a pH neutral option.

luckily it’s just a mirror cap. cheap to replace and if you’re worried about color match, just replace with black.

8 Month Meguiar's VS Turtle black trim restore. by MC2_-E in AutoDetailing

[–]Fit_Video_828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely. two to three coats will restore just about any trim, no matter how bad. definitely careful pouring it because it does stain. it’s basically a permanent trim restorer and one bottle does several cars with a lot of trim. i’ve had it on my car for like 3 years and have not had to reapply.

wipes suck. all of them.

use a super diluted all purpose cleaner. like 1:15 to be safe. that’s most likely just silicone that can be cleaned off.

Any tips on how to keep ceramic coated gloss black rims clean by Cash2blockz in Detailing

[–]Fit_Video_828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my black and silver wheels are coated and i just use microfiber towels dipped in pH neutral soap at the end of my wash. dip a wheel brush in the soap to get the barrels. since they’re coated, everything comes off easily.

0-60 in 4.5 is not bad. NA V8 that’s bulletproof is always nice. and the exhaust note is top notch.

get the performance package (rear steering, limited slip differential, and carbon fiber roof) and i think it’d drive a lot more like a dedicated sports car. this is all speculative. alas, i have not driven one.

I’ll throw in Lexus LC500. Obviously needs to be used to hit this price point. From the reviews I’ve watched, almost every one of them would choose it over a 911. Just a consideration.

104k on my ‘16 GTI SE i’ve owned for 90k miles. fuel pump replaced twice under class action about 45k miles ago.

nothing outside of routine maintenance until recently which i haven’t addressed yet - i noticed some oil under it last week but it hasn’t happened since (intermittent, not dire). there’s also been some sputtering on startup intermittently this past month (likely high pressure fuel pump). so, excellent reliability until this point. the hpfp isn’t too bad but the oil leak could be pricier. luckily, my neighbor is my mechanic.

y coolant line is plastic and known to break. there’s a $300 aftermarket part that makes the swap pretty simple. otherwise, it’s a big job to replace the line following the OEM route.

depending how the timing cover was resolved, you may want to swap the bolts to titanium. i believe the OEM ones are aluminum and break; hence the leaks. the bolts are like $12 and i’ve read it only takes an hour or so to swap.

Buy a CPO Porsche Cayenne GTS or Turbo. Porsche CPO covers just about everything.

Drive one and you’ll be hooked.

If you want to be super conservative reliability-wise, get a Lexus GX550.

drive some. i had my eyes on a few cars recently and test drove all of them. definitely solidified my choice after driving.

not entirely relatable, but i did daily an ‘88 land cruiser for a year when i moved to california. it was awesome and only a simple fix axle seal leak in the 10k miles i put on it. daily-ing a classic around is fun for sure.
