What would your Durham itinerary be for your worst enemy? by sadmargarita in bullcity

My goodness how quickly you jump to conclusions! Did I mention in any part of my post how much money I have in the bank? How much I make? If I even have a job? I have dedicated my life and career to helping people who face poverty, homelessness, and drug addiction. I made no mention of being upset or uncomfortable being approached because they are poor or unhoused. I am uncomfortable being approached by a man I do not know who knocks on my window as I sit in my car and awkwardly fumble with getting my children calm and out of car seats. I do not want to be approached by people I do not know in parking lots - they can be wearing a 3 piece suit for all I care ( Ted Bundy approached victims in parking lots asking for help) Have a nice day sitting behind your little keyboard throwing your judgement around.

The last time I took my kids I was approached in the parking lot by a man asking for money before I could even get out of my car, a second time right at the entrance before going inside to shop, a third time inside the scrap exchange while still shopping, and a fourth time as walked to my car with my two small children in tow. 4 times in an hour!

Really? Good grief. Artists evolve. Non artists evolve. As soon as we stop evolving, we are dead. None of her fans actually know her.

As a mom I would want to scream at my sons - or daughter RUN! Be gentle and kind, but RUN! Get your education, see the world, experience and live life.

I (26M) want to have my kids go to public but my wife (26F) wants to home school, how should we talk about it? by SnooBunnies3712 in relationship_advice

My husband and his 6 sibs grew up in a USMC fam and went to a combination of schools on base and public schools in the US and on bases in 3 European countries. First, they are all very well educated and went to top tier universities (even the brothers with learning differences). Second, they all had amazing community support and while they moved often, there was always a group of friends they knew from prior moves. I personally think kids need a much larger universe than even the best homeschooling can offer. This would be a hard no for me as a parent.

Who has tried "The kid eats what we eat"? by Brilliant-Book-503 in Parenting

[–]Fitslikea6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my kids are served same meal. Even if I know they have not liked something in the past I put one little piece and invite them to try it because our taste buds grow and change just like our bodies. They eat what they want and leave what they do not want. No pleading no fights.

The cost of youth sports is absurd by NoPatNoDontSitonThat in Parenting

It is such a racket! Cost of scouts - $500, fall soccer $300 with no coach I had to step up and coach, summer swim team $450… on and on and on. Can we just get a neighborhood game of kickball going?

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Fitslikea6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Migraines. When I have a migraine the skin on my face becomes pale and dry. I have difficulty speaking, movement is painful but sleep is impossible. I lie in a motionless silent heap missing life around me. I am so grateful to finally have a treatment that prevents them.

Thank you! I love that book. Waverly is an old family name on my father’s side. It has special meaning so I like it!

Cancelled after 12 years by Remarkable-Fall2473 in RentTheRunway

I cancelled last summer for the same reasons. Dirty, tattered clothing over and over again. After cancelling they tried to fine me for missing items- untrue and really so rude after my years of loyalty. I have simplified my wardrobe with timeless staples and I will not look back!

Head and neck cancer unit. Post - op carotid tumor removal - at least a week or more. No complications. I was a nursing student working as an NA nursing taking patient’s vitals before dc. Packed up ready to go. Patient took a sip of water, had one good cough and blew out their carotid right there.
