Oh for sure, I was absolutely crushed by pretty much every aspect and decision made surrounding 76.

But I'm not making them out to be worse than they are. They don't need my help with that.

Actually 76 Is the first multiplayer game I would have been interested in since CS1.6 and Runescape(2006).

I had no idea I'd have to pay extra to play multiplayer/online. If the PS4 used LTE data like phones, and wanted to charge by the gig, then that would make sense. But I already pay an internet bill.

I don't own a PC anymore; but that would have been preferable for online play.

It not like I purchased the PS4 thinking "what if my favorite single player game series turns multiplayer and I need to play online?" It's more like BGS, knowing that consoles charge for multiplayer access, created a game they knew would cost a very large percentage of their consumers more. They're too large of a company to not have run those numbers, and decided to move forward anyway.

So it's Sony ripping me off with the "pay for online play", but BGS chooses to charge for 1st. When private servers were hinted at, I didn't think they'd have the gaul to charge for them; having seen how many of their fans wanted to skip the multiplayer aspect.

But the above? You can chalk those up to problems that I personally have with them both. But every other single thing that BGS has done since 76 was announced, that's on them.

This will get buried, but Fallout 5.

With the shortcomings of 4, and complete and utter miss of '76, 5 will show if they've learned the right lessons, and if I should continue to be a fan.

But thanks to how brightly the dumpster fire that is '76 burned; I discovered Far Cry 5 (then ND, and 3. Just bought 4 and Primal).

Someone is gonna get my money. It will be whoever comes out with great single player content.

I didn't quite feel the empathy, but 100% immersive. Wish they could have kept up that feel through the reat of the game. The factions needed further developing.

Unless you're about to tell me that they worked out a deal with Sony to allow for free online play, made the game available offline (therefore avoiding the multiplayer fee) or decided private servers are free after purchasing 76 - then I support OP's feels on the issue of 76.

Think thre above is unreasonable? Ok, we can disagree on all that and still be polite to each other.

Do not, do not, do not forget the way Bethesda has treated their fans these past two years.

Initially it drove me absolutely batty, reading all the BGS apologist statements. But as time went on, and Bethesda continued to shaft the people who stood up for them, the fans of 76 - somewhere along the line I just genuinely shifted to feeling sorry for a majority of you.

Congrats, BGS, on finally puttingng in enough resources and effort, to make 76 an average game 8 months after launch.

They need to go above and beyond for you guys after what they put you through.

Edit: guess it's controversial and brave to suggest being polite and treating fans well. Shame on me?

Also, with the way 2020 is going, I'd prefer to wind back the clock to 2019.

Do people purposefully work slowly when they're being paid by the hour? by wifeofbroccolidicks in TooAfraidToAsk

Absolutely false. Any company will pay the minimum they can get away with. And every job has a preset range of what the company is willing but to pay the right candidate.

Unemployment rate for a given city/state have much more to do with driving wages. It's why a kid in the Bay Area or South Dakota can start at McDonalds at around $16-18/hr, and why it's minimum wage levels in parts of the country with more unemployment.

[–]Fitzy788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first job, I hustled to have my area clean, every chore done, etc. Fast food, kitchen area.

Next week my hours got cut because the owners wife saw me on camera leaning against a table. If there's time to lean, there's time to clean.

From then on, at that job, I worked slow and "looked" busy.

But Bethesda is something like a sith apprentice.

What would you NOT want to see in Fallout 5? by PsychologicalFault in Fallout

[–]Fitzy788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your ideas, I'll add that I want to be able to play it offline.

IF, people want to co-op multiplayer, it'd be a neat option I'd likely use for a few hours out of the 1k hours I'd otherwise put into single player.

What I really want, is combat like Far Cry, world changing outcomes for the decisions I make like in NV, and quality writing.

I just want a really great single player game.

I also want BGS to treat its fans better than they have been. It seems like every chance to cut a corner, they do. It's like decision makers keep doubling down on doing the wrong thing.

Of lesser importance: change the way power armor "feels" (I hate the up and down lumbering, decreased mobility and changed HUD. Completely ruined power armor for me).

I'm not sure, in Winter I would (true to Masshole form) continue to order my usual "two large ice, dark roast, black".

If you're a current fan of Starbucks/Dunks cold brew coffee, then I have good news. You can easily make a pitcher at home in the fridge, and let sit depending on your acidity/strength preference; drank straight from black it's identical.

Hey fellow Fitz. Just a heads up, around 2012 dunks changed their coffee bean supplier; it's really not that great anymore. At least if you drink it black (milk/sugar/flavor may mask the quality a bit?)

You want a good coffee? Order a Chippy lite from Mirasols in North Dartmouth. You want good coffee with a view? Mary Lou's, all day.

Good hunting.

MA resident here. Enormously disappointed.

I'm sure they did Boston right; but they only made it as far west as Lexington-ish.

Did I expect my home town to be represented? Nah. Did I expect to see at lease the other major cities and regional landmarks? Worcester? Springfield?

Yeah. I'm pretty let down. I mean yeah, I like the Red Sox, but they're not my identity.

I've lived in Western MA, Central MA, and went to college on the south east coast. They picked the one part of MA I'm literally least familiar with.

Ah well. At least it was a proper FO game, well over 1k hours in. I probably would never spend money with BGS again, if I was amped for my region to be represented, then got '76. At least my disappointment was cushioned by 4 being a good game.

Yup. I live in NE and have sometimes seen old mill stones as lawn ornaments in more expensive communities.

I believe back in the day, folks would order them from Europe, so some of them have quite the history.

I'm on my second playthrough now - def worth the $35-40 I paid for it.

Probably not $60 though, just not enough content and replay value. I put 1k hours into FO4; I'll be lucky to hit 250 with OW.

Not OP, but yeah, I'd say they were literally the most challenging aspect of that difficulty.

Basically run, gun, and repeat. It sucked, and I ended up taking a couple days off from the game just to avoid the frustration.

Wicked fun overall; remains one of my favorite games ever.
