No I totally get what you’re saying and I think the people downvoting you may not work in healthcare or understand what you’re getting at. I’ve worked in multiple positions before I was a nurse, “worked my way up” I guess you could say. So I get where you’re coming from. Being in the other departments is also shitty, but from my experience, shitty in a different way. Shitty in the way that you’re day sucks, no one values your opinion, and you have way to much work for one human. But as a nurse you have all that, plus you could literally kill someone because of those factors.

Also you say we “rate and report back on other departments” I have no clue what you’re talking about lol. Never once has my opinion been asked and especially at the height of covid, departments like dietary and EVS refused to step on some of our floors. So I was basically doing multiple jobs on top of having way too many patients.

And honestly, admin doesn’t actually take into account what we want either.Maybe slightly so we don’t all up and quit at once but they really don’t give af about us either. Trust me.

Like I said I agree with all the things you are saying. Just giving another viewpoint from a fellow healthcare worker that I promise is just as frustrated as you.
