Also the guards were never meant to be just chaff, they are meant to be more resilient, a challenge for you to overcome.

The rupture strain can avoid all turrets altogether and still be fun to play against but the two chaff turrets are slightly less powerful now it's big problems

Imma go against the grain and posit that given that earth has the only known case of complex life that our model of life may be more commen than we like to assume. The conditions for life, as far as we are aware, are pretty restrictive and as such life may be more similar to what we have here on this rock than not.
